Your clicker training is amazing. When we first got Bea she was 5 and didn't respond well to the click and treat, not being motivated by food, play, or much of anything for that matter, and bores easily. Saturday we will be picking up an abandoned purebred border collie from a friend who just doesn't have the time or the space for her. At just a year old with 2 training classes under her, I'll definitely be using the click, as she shows incredible intelligence and wit. Thank you so much for your free videos Kristen.

Hey, that was a editing error! It's completely up to you whose "left" you want to use.

I use Natural Balance Dog Food Rolls by Dick Van Patten or vegetarian hot dogs or burgers.

Aww... The end is very cute. A good trick, and it looks like fun for both of you.

Hi, thanks for your videos they are a great help :). Just one thing if you don't mind, when you are behind your dog using the hand target you right hand for right, but when you pass for the cue in front of the dog you say right but your dog is looking left. My question: Is this the intention? and when you are on his side or behind him? Thank's for your help, and keep sharing your videos Regards, Pedro Tavares

Hi Kristin, you probably wont see this message but its worth a shot- I have been trying to teach my dog this trick on and off for months now and I am finding it VERY difficult to phase out the hand as a target. My dog is so used to touching my hand with his nose that even though I say the cue each time I do it, the minute I take away using my hand he will just stare at me blankly. I try moving my head so that he will mimic me but he doesn't do that either. Any tips would be greatly appreciated :-) Love your videos and thank you!

+Gina Chik take a piece of paper and put it on your hand, then move the paper to the wall, give the same cue, once the dog is touching the paper on the wall, move it to where you want and give the cue, slowly fade out the paper by ripping it smaller and smaller. That should get the job done!
