Southport hasn’t changed a whole lot in the past few years, but it is scheduled for a large housing development. We are hoping that it doesn’t get out of control and spoil our unique town.

Very nice, thanks! We have done the intercostal a few times. We anchor a lot of the way but enjoy marinas too. Too bad Georgia has gotten so unfriendly for anchoring. Just to spite we do our best to go on the outside here and skip Georgia. The only place we ran aground was behind Jekyll Island. Mid tide rising in center channel. Got off on a rising tide. A Local came by and told us the the channel shifts a lot and they haven’t been keeping the buoys up to date. Will look for the next part and subscribe.
@tryingnottosink91072 жыл бұрын
Thanks for subscribing. There are so few places to get a marina in Georgia, that is close to the ocean. We skip most of it for that reason.

Thank you for the Author tip. my favorite water stories were Crunch and Des ones in the Saturday Evening Post back in the fifties. I spent many many weekends out on the waters from Sandy Hook down to Barnegat fishing with my friend, no big boat ,just a sturdy Hull. We've been out a few times on Bellingham Bay, WA. heading south toward Port Townsend, Washington, Shrimp and Crab fishing and just enjoying the ride, But there's something special about my Eastern routes(roots):) I am so happy I discovered both of you. Cheers, Rik Spector

When you wash down, are you using marina water? Is it metered? Do you fill water every marina? Is it normal to dump grey water en route? Lastly, howse about a hippie hair pic from 2019? On the hard, Ed
@tryingnottosink91072 жыл бұрын
Yes, we are using marina water and it is included in the United States. We fill up our holding tanks when we know we will be anchoring for more that a day or two. Gray water can go overboard. You need to be 3 miles out to dump black water, but we always use a pump out at the marinas or fuel docks.

I run a 42 Jarrett bay, under light power I steer the vessel with the motors not the rudders, just curious if your boat handles better operating the wheel
@tryingnottosink91072 жыл бұрын
That is what we do when docking. It is not as responsive as our 35" Carver but I got used to the delay. Sometimes I use both wheel and engines.
