As Rajpal Yadav said that bad actors become casting directors, I feel like good actors, if they just play a comedic role in one movie, they become sidelined to just comedy and to bring an element of fun in a film.

2000s Bollywood was definitely better. Then they just made films. Not a "brave" or "bold" film. They wanted to say something, and they said it without ever sounding preachy. I'm still shocked at how Swades holds up where it makes me reflect but at the same time makes me proud of being an Indian. Now THAT is a true patriotic film.

I agree with this one. Those movies defined Bollywood and what the essence of Bollywood was. Now everyone has moved towards so much commercial masala that the essense of Bollywood is lost. What I loved about it back then is that it presented normal characters and people being put into difficult circumstances. Or normal characters wading through life's problems. It was down to earth, it was pure and it was magical.

Unpopular opinion: I think Sanjay Leela Bhansali has really limited himself to historical epics. I love his work wholeheartedly but I kind of miss the artist who gave us small-scale gems that stand the test of time. Movies like Black, Guzarrish were beautiful stories that didn't require jumping into the grand bit of spectacle. He is one of the most in-demand directors in Bollywood and fairly can do anything he wants. So I hope that he does something new, maybe a story set in the present or a low-budget experimental project. I think it'll be worth it

I feel we as audience our responsible for this shift from art based films to commercial hits because I remember Guzaarish had clashed with Dabang at that time and no doubt Dabangg was a very massy and entertaining film but seeing the audience preferring Dabangg over Guzaarish was something that shouldn't have happened😢 But yes I feel content based films in bollywood are still being made for for example Pad man , Toilet , Neerja , Pink , Raid , Andhadun , Article 15 , Gangubai , ludo and many more . The only thing these projects need is our support . Yes we should support the big budget Masala films like Pathaan , Bhool bhulaiyaa 2 , War , Tiger , Jawan , Animal etc . But at the same time by supporting all these content driven films , we need to make the producers feel confident in taking risks and exploring variety of content along with mass entertainers . As the post pandemic releases are only restricted to remakes and mass entertainers , it's clear that producers are scared of taking risks as there is a lot of money involved and they obviously wouldn't want their ventures to fail which is restricting them from exploring varied contents . I feel bollywood as an industry has immense potential. The only thing they need us our support towards the content driven films which will inturn enable them to take risks in the future

This is such an interesting take! Surprised this has very few likes. Bunny was already feeling disjointed from everyone in the second half. And his 'wild child' best friend - who ridiculed the idea of settling down - is getting married. He would obviously compare his life to others and feel pressured to have a semblance of stability. Combined with the fact that he actually comes to term with his dad's death. His emotions were all over the place.

For travelling, the goods are shown when ranbir is living his life to the fullest nd the bads is shown with his disconnct among his friends. Overall... What i felt the movie conveyed is that life would be great by exploring, travelling to various places nd hving fun, but it ll only be complete if theres person to love nd be loved, be it partner or friends or family... And maybe, they need some help or time as well, cuz you never know wht hppns with life!!!

Jab We Met is one of the most loved films...but when I re-watch it as an adult I find 2 things quite interesting...One is the good part and other the bad Good:The film really did add a pinch of reality when Geet the happy go lucky girl, who never really thinks twice, and at times quite impulsive is seen facing the consequences of her rash descisions. The film did show that most of our actions have consequences and wasn't the typical bollywood type wherein the protagonist is always seen right no matter how stupid their descisions were Bad:I really believe Anshuman had the right to behave the way he did the moment Geet without any information just fled to Manali. He was wrong to just let her fend for herself when she was clearly in a mess, but having said that I believe it is okay for partners to expect some maturity from the other in their relationship.Making him the bad guy wasn't right.I mean if the genders were swapped any guy behaving like geet would be criticized

@@TriedRefusedProductions That's not the problem. You're making this into a good guy versus bad guy and who the girl always chooses problem. That's not the case here. Geet and anshuman were friends, and she hadn't confessed before she met aditya. Geet already was in love with anshuman when she met aditya. She was already in love, and devoted to that one guy. She didn't have the option before. So how could she look at aditya that way? It's not her fault. Calling it "friend zone" is basically blaming geet for something that isn't her fault. It's incredibly difficult to get over someone, even if their behavior is shitty, when you're deeply attached to them. Geet was like that. And we could clearly see that she was an immature hopeless romantic. And women aren't obliged to look at every male who breathes near them as a potential love interest, and neither should men feel entitled to that. Which of course, works the other way around as well.

For sure, the 2000s were far better than the 2010s. With actors whom we consider the stars of Bollywood are now majorly featuring in mindless comedy or some biopic rather than taking up projects which does justice to their craft (obviously there are exceptions). And creators with good projects are turning to OTT platforms and the commercial space is just left with one kind of genre.

Yes, 2000s bollywood was about entertainment, whereas 2010s is mostly about preachy movies which are trying to teach us something rather than entertain us. Hence the audience is getting fed up of being preached again and again instead of getting entertained. However, the early 2010s (2010-2012) was good, it's from mid 2010s (From 2013) that it started becoming preachy and political.

I have always loved comedic actors like Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal and Sanjay Mishra. They have such good potential but are often reduced to comedic story plot. I love Paresh Rawal, he has a huge range apart from doing comedic roles. Honestly comedic actors are also actors and have much better talent than our so called heroes. It’s sad that Bollywood often typecast actors.

Your views on 2000s>2010s is so spot on I just want to add another point on this that the 2000s movies give you a good happy vibes despite the main story there were more areas explored in those movies the freshness these movies have is still unbeatable every great movie of 2000s were totally different from other but still contain the great message of humanity. These movies shows character from every class and still create un forgetful impact of them in audience still now but in 2010s every good movie based on some serious issues and highlight is the survival of lower class which definitely evoke a thought process in us but gives the same depression which we all experience in our daily life around us and I think that's the biggest lacking of today's bollywood the good movies are not giving the same relief and happiness and not even great characters that 2000s bollywood had.
