I do love music paper and I have loads of it but my favourite is from an old ready reckoner book I found in a charity shop. Every page is printed with small columns of figures and it has a real vintage feel. Small pieces make a wonderful addition to collages on tags etc. and it seems to fit with everything. I am constantly on the lookout for similar books but have never found another one, so I am jealously hoarding it😊. I have scanned some to keep and reprint (it's long out of copyright) but it's not the same as the original.

These are fantastic, Joie! I just found Kelly of Book and Paper. One of her favorite techniques is to start her collages with some type of transparent paper. I love the way it looks, especially that it keeps the printing of the background page visible . So I've loaded up on $1 decorative tissue paper. I have no doubt that it's going to become a must have in my junk journalling life!

Loved this one, I recently made a couple of similar tri folds and they are quite addictive. My favourite collage papers are home made ones. In particular ones made on rougher cheap mixed media paper that I stencil with oxide ink sprays and pads. I don't waste any ink though because I reuse the stencil in the negative until all the ink is used up......sometimes this gives the best results. But it's time consuming to make so I hoard them away and only use small pieces over plainer music, coffee dyed, text or ledger papers with some printed florals or Morris papers etc.

Hello Joie - Thank you so much for your tutorials! And for always including ideas for items we already have. I am new to collage - a card maker at heart - and started with one of your tag ideas and it has grown quite quickly from there. I want to give this trifold a "tri" and went out today for big page books at my charity stores in town. I was lucky and found TWO large atlas books. I find that like some others here - I'm having a hard time tearing out the pages! I need an intervention! LOL

I found some duplicate book children books. My favorite papers are music since I have quite a few. I come from a musical family..piano player, organ. Guitar, drum and we all sing. Lots of preachers too. One of my sisters play classical music... 🎶🎶🎶🎶 and I took voice lessons.🎶🎶💜🤗🤗🤗

Oh these are going in my idea 💡book. I'd love to sell one day but I do gift my stuff. I think I'm scared nobody would want my efforts🙈. Oh brilliant putting the date on! I love children's books for substrate. Sturdy enough but easily folded. The vellum looks cool, I've also printed directly onto book page. Ooh, I have fabric medium somewhere 🤔. Those rolls are great for scraps aren't they? I'm an absolute sucker for steampunk/maths/physics/foreign languages and music but been introducing some florals and even pink 😵🙊. Great stuff Joie! Any suggestions for ways to use old and delicate papers for pockets and other features that will be handled a lot? I love old paper, but it's fragile.

Your usual FANTASTIC tutorial! Love this one. May ask one question? I see you use a glue stick and in other videos you use pva and even wood glue (mixed with water?). When I use any of these things my paper buckles and warps. Glue stick has really let me down because I didn’t expect the wavy warping from that. I must be doing something wrong. Any tips?

Hmm, I don't add water but I do mix wood glue and pva. Not too much PVA is my tip, it's thin. Beware too much pressure when using a stick. Hope this helps!!❤️❤️

Ah ha! Yes, this is useful. I apply stick glue very heavily - time to lighten up. Will do a few test pieces with wood glue and pva mix. Thank you so much.

How permanent is Washi tape? A lot of tapes tend to curl up and come off after sometime. My favorite paper is my gel prints, and vintage book pages.
