My favorite way of countering consumable hoarding is greatly limiting how much of each can be held. You don't feel like holding off on using a potion when you can only hold five at a time. It can no longer be a waste to use it when you wouldn't have been able to pick up the next one otherwise. Thinking about it, it's kinda similar to the souls-like estus system.

Bro, I am North African. I grew up in Gateshead. I used to get called a camel fucker by my class pupils. Honestly, as I grew up, I literally never bothered me. Because I believe they were only reflecting what their parents and family were implementing onto them. It's all good with me. I still respect England for providing me with opportunity and I still love my country with all my heart. I respect your comment. Its mature. Also, as a personal point of view, I've always loved the Welsh-English accent. It's very unique and smooth on the ears.

I was wondering if maybe he heard about the stadium they're planning to build in Hobart near the cenotaph, which I have never met anyone in favour of. I think that's where he got the idea that Tasmania was trying to be a sport capital but failed, when in reality were trying to get the AFL to actually treat us like every other state. MONA is the name of the art museum and it's actually a really successful tourist draw for the state and the regular music and art festivals funded by the same guy are also very popular. If you want to see Australia, definitely put some time aside for tassie, we have some of the best walks in the country, fantastic natural sights, half the retired art and music population of the country, one of the most unique art experiences, the best orchestra in the country, the nicest inner city atmosphere I have ever experienced, and the worst university in the world. And the best part is you can travel across the entire state in half a days drive, so everything is concentrated in quite a small area. Also, from what I've heard the yogscast are cider enjoyers, so it'd be worth your while to go down towards the Huon Valley and visit all the breweries.

Hey guys, just wanted to chime in on the consumables in games chat, for me the Witcher 3 did this best, where in you find a recipe to make craft a potion which has X amount of charges to allow multi uses during a fight/dungeon, to craft it originally you need specific ingredients (spider eye, trolls toe etc.) but will refill to full when you rest using generic alcohol (at least that's how I remembered it working, I think there were different difficulties for that mechanic which made the refill as expensive as the original craft or removed the cost entirely, not played the others so unsure if its the same in them as well). In a similar vain but not to the same extent would be Estus flasks from Dark souls (or BB from Jedi: fallen order), x amount of heals which refill on rest or death and can be upgraded to carry more charges and heal more per charge. Incidentally, one of the few complaints I've seen about Bloodbourne, was the change to blood vials (essentially the Estus flask) being a single use consumable, meaning after X amount of boss attempts your stockpile might've run out and you have to go farm vials/cash to buy more, which can effectively reset any progress you made towards learning how to fight the boss. I think the 1 and done usage of consumables puts off a lot of people from wanting to use them, not just because you might want to save it for a later encounter but also because you are then committing resources to that 1 attempt (e.g Ember in Darksouls 3, single use, heal to full and gives +30% max HP and while you can farm them its not ideal) so if you've used all your Free replenishing Estus flasks you have to decide "Is using an Ember going to allow me to beat this boss this attempt or will I still die and then don't have that Ember for attempt no. 2", same for any of the damage boosting buffs in DS, you have to attempt, fail, but come close to beating the boss fairly consistently to be confident that using said item will help you win and wont just be wasted on another failed attempt. Edit: Regarding the craftable gear not being as good as found gear I do agree that a lot of games put a crafting mechanic in that is clunky and worthless, however there are some occasions where I don't mind this and in fact think it can work, assuming the crafting isn't too complex, the gathering isn't tedious and the game has multiple options for gear (mining ore nodes/chopping trees would be where it becomes tedious). However if you just find random resources as you play the game alongside other loot that you can just treat as junk to sell but have the option to craft with it if you want to, then I see no problem, you don't have to interact with that part of the game if you don't want to, and you don't miss out on anything if that's what you choose to do, but for those that do the option is there. It means for e.g as a 2H warrior you can make a basic 1h sword and shield to try out a build before committing to doing a mega dungeon for an amazing sword/shield or which quest reward/thing to buy from a vendor. If you couldn't craft the basic sword/shield, you may never have tried them out to begin with so aren't encouraged to attempt said dungeon/take reward/buy item as its not useful to you, if the crafted gear was better than looted gear, then all loot becomes worthless as why would you ever want to loot anything when you can just craft the best stuff in the game. Another reason would be maybe you've got unlucky and haven't found a bow yet for e.g and you want to play an archer, you can just craft one because even though it'll be mediocre at best, its still better than nothing and gives you a basic starting point on which to improve

23:45 Tbh I feel like an even simpler thing is to just have potions be auto used when needed like some RPGs often have a setting for anyway, or rather than being individual items just be part of some like health pool that you can dip into when you need some healing or both. Or the other side of auto using them make it more like fps games where when you walk over the health drop on the floor it heals you and you can leave it for later if you really want but once you leave the area it's gone.

bit late to this one but on the welsh conspiracy, we actually have a saying 'lawr y lon' which means down the lane and its a sad reality of many people through out wales' history has had to move to england in order to make a decent living, so its less a thing of we are trying to take over the yogscast; although this is true, and more the lack of investment in welsh communities

Good thing Pyrion specified that it was a joke, I'm not joking here. I'm on the autism spectrum, it's always been a struggle to identify jokes. I don't correlate exaggerations with jokes. I have hyperempathy and overthinking too, which causes me to take things seriously, I've unfortunately seen actual racist and sexist people who are serious about it, have wondered if it's not a choice for them but that's a topic out of my league. Which is why when I heard Pyrion say it, I was wondering if my theory was correct for a second there.

we have wild carrots in england, and thats a legit fact....What's also legit, is that they're shit. The top of it looks just like a poisinous plant (hemlocke) so they are kinda difficult to even want to forage for them, and the actual carrot is scraggly and more root than vegetable. Which i think is very english of it. But it is still a wild vegetable growing naturally here. Other than than the national veg could be garden peas. Potatoes are kind of cheating though, basically every western countries fav veg would be a potatoe for crisps and chips and roasties and all the other golden delights from the earth.

Fun fact: the king who unified England, Aethelstan, was of Celtic British (essentially Welsh) origin. Indeed, a significant proportion of English and Scots are of Brythonic origin. There are plenty of places in Great Britain outside Wales yet with Welsh name origins, such as Perth (which is Welsh for bush/thicket), Aberdeen (Aber- means 'river mouth', you can spot it in Welsh places like Aberystwyth) and Eccles (cognate with eglwys and ecclesia, meaning church)

damn guys, when you started mentioning the "coach beard episode" i immedietely thought "oh yeah that one was fucking great" and then they just absolutely slaughter it. Yeah, i guess its defintely not made for you guys to be the audience, because that episode was absolutely fucking great. It's fun, and strange, and whacky. It made a great change from it turning into a generic sitcom where characters sit together, say funny line, next person, say funny line, next person, say funny line, next person end of episode. Then again, you guys put sinefield up on a plinth when its total garbage, was at the time and still is. So different strokes, don't start turning old on me guys, if you start saying you wake up at like 8am and watch king and queens or whatever that garbage with that chubbby guy from the adam sandler films is then there's no coming back from it lololol. Anyway, big ups for the succession reccomendation because that shit is great. Created by the same guy that co created peep show, which makes total sense with the constant sliver of comedy running throughout it. I heard he was involved but figured he might be a writer for the comedy parts or maybe directing some of it, but didnt realise he was the full blown show creator. What a glow up, from peep show and other british sitcoms, straight up to full fat, full blown HBO show.

Not sure how I feel about the premise of that "Jury Duty" show Pyrion was discussing, on surface level its seems fairly interesting and whatnot, my issue however comes from the ethics of it, if the Main person really does have no idea that this is all fake, so therefore hasn't signed anything saying they can do this outside of filming him during an apparent court case, haven't they effectively just gaslighted someone into not going into work and living with a bunch of Actors for X amount of time on the premise that they are Legally obligated to do this and if they said no or tried to avoid it they could face prosecution? isn't this effectively impersonating the court into forcing someone to take weeks out of there life? like if this happened to me, as soon as its revealed its all fake, I'm going straight to a lawyer to Sue/press charges against whatever company set it up, aside from the emotional drain and stress of actual Jury duty there's also countless lost opportunities that I could've missed out on, maybe I was going to get a promotion the day after trail started but because I wasn't in the office for weeks they eventually had to give it to someone else, maybe a family member became seriously ill and died and I wasn't able to say goodbye because I believed it would be Illegal for me to have any contact with the outside world,. There's some big ethical issues with any sort of fake reality show in general but one that's faking something that has Legal enforcement, potential long term ramifications both emotionally and in your career/social life feels a little much, like, if you play by those rules what's stopping a company from making a show where they get a fake doctor to tell someone they are terminally ill, then that person then goes around settling all there affairs, sells their house, starts writing up a will, possibly falling out with people over said will, only to then be told, "nah it was just a prank bro" feel like there will be some friends and family will just assume they made it up to begin so never talk to them again, and even if everyone did believe them because they then saw the show, they still sold their house.
