Sorry for this mini rant but I needed to get this off my chest. Best of luck dude, it will all be done and dusted soon ❤

Another week, another incoherent lewis rant. Great stuff, keep it up lads Edit: this was in response to the stuff about all humanity being backwards. But actually that talk about jobs towards the end by lew felt pretty spot on actually. There really is very little incentive to put all your effort into your work when you don’t own the product of your labor, which I think is a pretty glaring flaw in capitalism. Well done, Lewis consider yourself redeemed.

@@JurijsPastnieks yeah, I definitely don't think everyone should just become artisans who work for themselves. I do think companies should be reorganized so that employees have more ownership of their companies, though.

@@jorbdan6305 It seems like a sweeping solution to a very complex problem. It has been done before. Problem occurs when company goes bankrupt and your shares become worthless. Do you really want that commitment as average employee? Better to just get paid and invest in something of your own choice. Or start your own business.
@jorbdan6305
@jorbdan6305 Жыл бұрын
@@JurijsPastnieks well if we're really gonna get into the weeds of it, what I'd want is for an eventual transition of all companies to become worker coops. Individual coops or individuals within the coop can have their own preferences on whether they have shares in the company or get paid wages (or a mix). Of course the problem of going bankrupt with the company wouldn't be nearly as dire if the country you lived in could guarantee your basic human rights even if you did go bankrupt, which we refuse to do here in the US.
@JurijsPastnieks
@JurijsPastnieks Жыл бұрын
@@jorbdan6305 What I meant was as an average employee you don't want to bind yourself to a company, ever. I have heard that it is another problem in the US. It is a nice sentiment, but things like coops work in a small scale with people you can trust. Some one still has to run coops, if that person is corrupt and everyone under that person knows it, how do you police that on a scale. US has a lot of problems, you need to separate them and solve them individually, all you and your government does is look for cheap fixes to everything and/or just try to throw money at it which is not always a solution. The way your government as whole works is a bit dated, but seems to reflect mentality of many US citizens, if you are to ever change I hope is for the better. I come from a post soviet ****hole, if you want to study how to (not) run coops or if it is a good idea in the first place, you should look there.

I swear to god, for me there will never be a work place where I actually want to work or be happy getting up in the morning to go to work. It's just not possible for me. Work of any kind sucks for me. The best I can do is to have a job with the least amount of stress and pressure. I go there just to get my money and leave without feeling depressive because of shitty bosses or coworkers. As long as that is happening, I can accept to go to work every day. Working for someone else always feels forced no matter what type of work it is, at least for me. I don't want to be my own boss or make any decisions in a higher position either, because it's just not what I am made for.

Realistically any civilization advanced enough to traverse the stars would have access to all the raw materials they could ever need without needing to invade any planets. The only thing on earth we think might be rare in the universe is complex life, so it'd have to be related to that if they were going to bother with invasion. Even then it's hard to believe they couldn't just replicate anything they were particularly interested in unless they were just getting off on ruling other planets.

The reason "step" porn is popular might be because of what Pyrion said, but it's also illegal to make incest themed porn in some states. So to get around this they make it step family. There are some companies that were making incest based pron then had to switch to step because of these laws.

On the alien stuff: none are hard to explain, there used to be a task force in the US military that counted over 12k UFO incidents and on closer examination, they're all complete non-starters. Now there's a few dozen more blurry images and the mass hysteria starts a-new. The journalist mentioned by Pyrion did a really crummy job, on the one hand complaining about over sensationalised bits on UFOs while his own piece is... well, over sensationalised (edits, music choices, zooms etc...). It's insane to what degree bullshit is coming out of people's mouthes on this, the videos show birds, balloons (including probable party balloons and plane lights out of focus. Often, "analysis" leaves out obvious stuff. Like, the objects do not move fast, the camera the pic is taken from moves... which many of these videos even indicate on the footage. Anyways, there's some literate analysis on YT (but not as much as the sensational BS ofc). Current wave seems to be nothing more but revival of hysteria surrounding the topic mixed with media clickbait interests.

I don't think the popularity of step-porn actually has much to do with the step angle at all, I think it's probably more often because it's a shorthand for a type of personality and realtionship so you understand more of the tone before you get in, I think that's also why roomate is becoming more popular etc, basically it is just the more mordern version of the fucking the plumber/hadyman/fitness trainer etc from before except those types of people aren't really who people want to fuck now adays, people want more genuine connection but they still want it to be a more casual thing. Which isalso why boyfriend/girlfriend porn is not usally at the top because whenpeople are watching porn they usually want tothink of it more like a hookup and also chances are they're single or not able to hook up with their partner maybe due to distance etc and don't want an extra reminder of how they're lonely.

I don't think it would be too hard to find a single person to be be the representative of humanity to an alien species. You just need to find someone who nobody, no matter their race, nationality, religion or political leanings, could reasonably object to. One name immediately springs to mind: Keanu Reeves. And have David Attenborough on standby as a backup, just in case something goes wrong.

I think Pyrion realized how someone might take his opinion wrong when he said he doesn't have a reason to think this way about adults at Disney. But honestly feel the same about adults at Disney without children. You could spend your money on something so much more meaningful or impactful instead of throwing ur money at this monopoly. I should say tho, when I went as a kid, my fav ride was Soaring Over California which has nothing to do with any of Disney's productions. I think I'd enjoy it now as an adult BUT I never would waste money on such a novelty when I could spend less to actually go see these places it shows in the ride! So I'd say I'm with pyrion on this. I'm surprised at the amount of comments saying Pyrion's views on Disney Land are miserly. I didn't think it was that negative at all - just a bit of banter, even with an acknowledgement that there was no real reason for it. When I see these kinds of reactions to Pyrion generally I always wonder if it's some kind of cultural difference - like is it Americans just taking what he says too literally? In Britain it's pretty normal to overstate your opinions and have jokey arguments with friends about them, and nobody takes it that seriously - especially in the context of an entertainment podcast!
