Homelessness in the USA is at an unbelievable state as compared to where I live in Australia. The existence of places like Skid Row in LA and tent cities is a serious humanitarian crisis that people just ignore or promote politics which justifies the situation. In Melbourne homelessness is (generally) confined to people with serious mental health issues and drug addictions as most other people have access to/ access welfare assistance. This isn't particularly great for the public perception of the homeless as when you do see them there is a good chance you are seeing a raving man screaming in the middle of the CBD or a guy litteraly smoking crack on the train. I have been recording clips for the last few years of the things I have seen on Milbourn's trams and trains, and was going to upload a compellation titled "Tram Degens of Melbourne", but had to reevaluate this decision realizing that showing people at the lowest end of society at their worst moments isn't particularly ethical and only serves to dehumanize them further.

Lewis talking about the bronies waking up one morning and realizing their nazi like bad guys and that's why they aren't around anymore is very funny to me as a former brony, pyrion is right (Less about the pedophile stuff although it's not entirely wrong) it's all down to the fact that people get older and they stopped making the show people loved and moved on to a new version that people were at best very tepid about.

Catie was invited but idk if she skipped or was there before and left before i got there. Definitely had a cringe parasocial relationship with catie but her videos helped with my first big break up and help me keep from kms. Yogscast has also help in that and helped me in my journey of becoming a leftest instead of a conservative. Glad for that. Im doing better now a days and in a good stable relationship now.

The "crazy homeless people" is more a big city thing in the US, from what I've heard/seen. Homelessness is a problem everywhere, and obviously mental illness can be a factor, but a lot of them are normal, functional people who've had some bad luck and don't have the resources to get back on their feet. And sadly, places like San Francisco are used as examples of it being "impossible" to alleviate the problem. "But they've spent so much money, and it's still a huge problem!" Well yeah, for one thing, people went there to get help, like you mentioned. What it comes down to is that it can't be solved at the city level. We need widespread change, starting with prevention, and it's so difficult to get enough people to agree to accomplish anything on a large scale here, much less something so complicated.

yeah springfield is pretty bad. 3 out of the last 5 times I've been there. I have been in a car accident with/by junkies. put it in reverse in Mcds drive thru and hit me. Another a person backed into me at a stop light. and the last one totaled my truck running a red light. and now they are suing my insurance. roving bands of 20-30 homeless at a time. with about the same age range 20-30. fast food offers day wages. but they would rather stand on a corner and beg. Oh stopped at Burlington coat factory. Watch two girls walk out a side/service entrance. With shopping carts full of stuff. threw it in a car real quick. that pulled up and popped the trunk. threaten to record them. so they left with only half the job done. talked to the workers they are like it happens 2-3 times a day. The company doesn't pay for security anymore. and we are not allowed to do anything. Talked with a drunk driver with a brick in his windshield. at a gas station. All the people that drive around without a tag on their car blows my mind too. Dirty meth town.

I don't remember what city it was, but I remember hearing that in whatever state it was it was illegal to relocate homeless people but a bunch of cities just blatantly disregard that and bus them to the one city that actually obeys that law. So that one city has an abhorrent homeless problem since it has it's own AND gets more shipped in who are likely put in an even worse spot

Pyrion saying most places don't have AC. Well that might be true for Europe for when the summers don't get hot as the US. But with climate change it will be harsher for Europe, those heat waves will become more common, and warmer. Which will lead to higher rate of heat deaths. And Asian countries have AC at least the developed parts the rural areas wont. Even South America has good amount of AC why because it is hot as balls there.

As a poor guy from Seattle I can confirm what flax was saying. It's fucked. I think a big problem is that seattle was a working class city before the tech boom. There was always rich areas but it was mainly built off the back of the port, the logging, and industry based on those. After the tech boom, most of those people got priced out of their city. Mix that with basically no police, allowing people to set up homeless encampments anywhere, and promoting drug use with things like needle exchanges, things have fallen apart. There are literally homeless camps next to elementary schools. Seattle is the best place to not give a fuck, smoke foil, and shit on the street. I feel like my home is ruined.

@alphasword5541 not destroy society for the rest of us. The way I see it, I don't feel bad for somebody who doesn't respect me. There's a big difference between being homeless (which I've been) and saying 'fuck society' and doing whatever you want. The vast majority of them are there because they let drugs take over, so its effectively a choice. The number of people who are there for any reason other than drugs is negligible Therefore, I think the solution is pretty harsh. I think it starts with putting a lot of them in jail tbh. Keep in mind that this isn't the homeless problem a lot of people grew up with. These guys aren't just having bad luck. The problem is that it's now possible to disregard society completely. 9/10 of them would have been in jail 20 years ago.

In college, I had pretty lousy luck dating women for the first two years, until I randomly was in a relationship with someone that was much higher on the totem pole and hotter than me. After we broke up, I had no issues whatsoever landing women again in college, almost as if a bunch of women saw that I had been with a hottie and figured that I must be good. For reference, I went to a small college when Facebook was brand new and exciting, so it was easy for word to get around on who was with who and the like. I think that's the Davidson factor. He got with one hot celebrity and it opened the door to a load more.

Lewis is rarely every right in the context of this show. The more I watch this the more I realise Pyrion is here to call him out on his bs. Don’t always agree with Pyrion but he stands by what he says. Lewis kind of flip flops and Sips is a pushover.

@@highvoltage7797 I was just shocked at Lewis statement, with how the US with its econ policies. I mean hell the large private prison industry and the lack of National Health Care service in the US. It kind of makes me wonder if Lewis doesn't know what Ayn Rand believes. Sips is more of comedic relief I don't expect much on topics like this. Pyrion tends to be someone what informed and it is fine to disagree with people on such econ or politics in general. I know Lewis has like Master in Chem but he is so clueless. That is what amazes me. And I mean clueless outside of his little bubble. Another podcast I watch there is guy near his 30 who lives in the US that doesn't know what are the general views of the Republicans or Democrats are. Not even some BS characterization built off propaganda from one side. People that uniformed scares me a little bit.

@@DubhghlasMacDubhghlas Tbh as much as I love The Yogscast they are pretty clueless on most things. It’s part of their charm but when it comes to serious topics it’s really frustrating. Uniformed people honestly do make Me angry. Well largely angry at the system We have where it wants the public to be uniformed. People who are deliberately apolitical or who say each side is just as bad are the people I’m genuinely angry at.

Won’t be listening to this weeks episode, it’s not a Triforce in my opinion. I would rather them not release one if they have to replace a member for it to work. They’ve done duo episodes in the past so what’s wrong with them doing one now? Why not do a duo mailbag? Not angry just disappointed. Thanks for listening to my ted talk.

Barry is actually a really smart young fella. He may play up the memey shit but he has considered and thoughtful insight on broad social and political topics. He plays a character on Twitch but he and *Daf are the glue that enables the Yogscast to function as a business.

The signs you are referring to in america are there not to tell people they just can't bring their guns in, it's a legal thing so if anyone gets caught with a gun in there they can prosecute fully and there is no chance of the person saying they didn't know where they were etc
