The Pyrion and Sips discussion on thousands of hours in games (and the aside about people just enjoying the feel and movement of a game) was one of the most sense-making conversations these guys have ever had
@xSuperiorManx7 жыл бұрын
Was it? even considering how many thousand hours Pyrion spends with his beloved DOTA and it's limited, repetitive gameplay, while hughe multiple-choice adventures that offer a shitton of different endings for their hundreds of quests (= non-repetitive replay value) get bashed? Nah, it was one of the most hypocritic statements ever IMO.

When they talked about teams renaming/rebranding themselves, it reminded me of that YoGPoD in which they talk about that football team that renamed themselves 'Total Network Solutions', and that team where all the players changed their names to those of famous footballers. Seems like Lewis brings a hint of YoGPoD to every Triforce episode.

When it is warm in Britain though it is way fucking worse than in other countries, when I recently went to America it was around 37 degrees C and it was bearable but the heatwave in the UK was like hell. It doesn't help when almost nowhere has decent air con and all buildings are designed to keep all the heat it can inside.

Puy is a geological term in French that means a volcanic hill, from the Latin Podium (meaning foothill and is the origin of the English podium), puits is a well, Pyrion, from the Latin Puteus. Fou also comes from a different origin than fool or madman. It comes from the original Latin name for the location which meant Beech Tree Hill in English (Podium Fagis in Latin, which over time, as the name became francofied, got mixed with the French fou as the original Latin based word for beech tree was superseded by the Germanic name Hêtre from the Frankish Hestra and thus it looks like the Volcanic Hill of the mad, but originally that was not the meaning.

Sips is totally right about the stupid renaming of popular stadiums. In Seattle we had the Kingdome, then it was destroyed (or was that the tacoma dome? One of them was) Anyways, so the Kingdome was bought by Safeco and because Safeco Stadium, which was then sold to Century Link and is now Century Link Field. Like, that's stupid to me. Luckily, we call it the Clink, which really pisses the Century Link guys, so that's fun.

This is on the single player game that people play hours and hours of. Zootycoon2 was my first game I bought, after like a few years it got boring but after I find the world of mods I just found it so more interesting and enjoyable. I think the fact why I love ZT2 so much is the community and the thing that I can make different zoos, and in the end thats it for me, you know I think for people who play like 500 hours its a game they've come to love and appreciate that since the game isnt anything more that its a game that they can always relie on that will give them the same results. Thats why ZT2 is my jam.

I dunno about Pflax. and Battle Brothers. I mean, yeah he's right about the basic gameplay loop of Battle Brothers but I feel like that game is more about the setting and the stories that arise from that gameplay loop. Yeah, the raw numbers don't mean much, -20% to health, but Sigfried was stabbed in the lung 2 battles ago, and carried on, bleeding out and fighting alone against a series of zombies, and pretty much single handedly saved the company from being destroyed. THAT is what is interesting about Battle Brothers.

Red bull have in fact sponsored and somewhat taken control of a football team in the top division in Germany, RB Leipzig. The club has even changed its badge to promote red bull. This had led to the club getting a lot of hate but the money from the sponsor has allowed for them to buy quality young players and do pretty well in the Bundesliga.

In regards to the inconsitencies in DotA 2, League is a lot more stable in that way of keeping names and brands around to be easier to follow. If PFlax cared about League as well as DotA, he could be very interested in the things going on in that scene.

Well currently my most played game is Path of Exile, and with the new update it's getting even more hours into it. That's actually a game that a stupid amount of content because you can make new builds to play with and stuff. Terraria and Skyrim are second with 500 hours each. Skyrim is cause I played with a bunch of mods and kept starting over and Terraria I never actually beat the game cause I kept making a new world each new major update and spent a lot of time building stuff. Though I mean hell, the game i've enjoyed by far the most is the original Dark Souls and I have about 300 hours in that and have beaten it probably 15+ times at minimum and memorized everything in the game.

It's okay, Lewis, Nates was also known during the French revolution for genociding Christians. Many of the region's leaders had denounced the Catholic Church as Les Infames and the followers of the faith as the enemies of humanity, those who needed to abandon their faith and spit on the cross or be executed. A typical execution was done via mock Christian wedding rituals that would end in a couple being bound and then tossed into the river to drown.
@hoathanatos61797 жыл бұрын
The man who would lead this genocide would be appointed as the director general of taxes under Napoleon, even though he also massacred the general tax farmers during the revolution, and was highly respected despite the atrocities he committed.
