Fun fact: The "long hair and a beard" image of jesus was invented during the crusades to make him look Italian (because that's where all the artists were.) They changed his appearance so he wouldn't look MIDDLE EASTERN, e.g. the people they were MASSACRING in the crusades.

When you slice onions, be sure NOT to stand over them. Be an arms reach away, like you would change a nasty diaper. there are other tricks, most are shit, but the tips I found useful were: A) Chill the onion a bit, B) put a lemon wedge in your mouth, kinda like a mouth guard. PRO TIP: squeeze the lemon juice out first, it's just the rind you after.

Chistmas came about cause there was already a pagon tradition of celebrating on december 25th so the church made a compromise, "this is now a celebration of jesus birthday not a worship of the tree god thing that doesn't exist" PS Adam from college humor has his own tv show on TrueTv and has covered this topic in one of their episodes, the show is called Adam Ruins Everything, its a must watch.

I picked all 5 Red Rising books up after all of the mentions Pyrion and Sips made of it in the podcast. They really aren’t wrong to be so excited, I’m only halfway through the third book at this point, but I’m just not able to put this series down and I’ve never felt that way about a novel before. In fact, it’s also inspired me to buy the 6 Frank Herbert Dune novels so that after I am finished Dark Age I can finally get into that.

The tradition of Christmas trees comes from the pagan practice of hanging pine boughs over their doors in hopes of their food lasting them through the winter, I believe.

The tradition of bringing trees into people's home came from the belief that you had to preserve some life from the previous fall into the new spring in order to preserve nature; if you didn't bring some life into the new spring it wouldn't have any.

Sips was the most accurate with the Christmas tree saying it was Victorian, I don't know the origins of why people around the world had trees in there homes for Christmas but I know Britain had trees because Queen Victoria husband Albert who was German had a Christmas tree as that's a German Christmas tradition so because the royal family did it the rest of Britain did.
