Hearing you guys talk about deer makes them sound like some sort of Apex Predator. Would you get hurt fighting one? Probably. But yes a human would win against the average deer. They are neither tougher nor larger than humans.

I think the point is that when people think they can take on a deer they think of themselves as being at their peak, like 18 year old, muscly and lean, not some 40 year old couch potato that'd trip over and get jugged by a hedgehog.

@@RedSntDK Thing is I'd still easily bet on the 40 year old couch potato. Unless it's a stag deer are actually quite fragile. And far less equipped for fighting than any human. Unless you are morbidly obese or otherwise impaired I am betting on you in that fight.

​@@XMysticHerox Some 40 year old couch potato is suppose to close the distance and grapple an adult red deer? Even if that does happen, what are they gonna do? Strangle it? They have to be strong enough to basically hang from the deers neck while the deer is doing all it can do to shake them off. Like honestly, male red deer weight a minimum of 160kg and have four legs. I doubt you're gonna make it fall over, it is more likley to make you fall over and when you do you're doomed. And im sure the red deer has waaaay better stamina anyways. A well trained male human could probably win, but a 40 year old couch potato? really?

@@bugisduckis Well in this scenario we are assuming both are trying to kill each other so closing in would not be an issue. And a stag is not exactly the average deer. I would give a stag decent odds and goring a human. Even so assuming the human is seriously trying to kill the deer it does not take much. Because deer are actuallly really fragile. Hanging off the deers neck? Not necessary. A good kick would seriously injure any but the largest stags nevermind a regular female deer. If you actually managed to grab one by the neck you certainly would not be "hanging of it's neck". This is what I meant by thinking of them as some sort of apex predator. Ridiculous. And no deer do not have better stamina than humans. Significantly less so in fact. Fast twitch vs slow twitch muscles. Humans have a shit ton of the latter. Even when you are not very athletic you likely have more stamina unless actually obese.

Anything with antlers is gonna fuck you up, but an average man could absolutely win a fight to the death with a whitetail or roe doe.
