I'm "Edwin" from the email towards the end, just using a throwaway account here, but I thought I'd add to my sentiment in response to what Pyrion said: We don't expect people to take us seriously, we are aware (for the most part) that we are a very weird and an out-there fandom. And to Lewis, I think location definitely attributes, for lack of better words, to the sexual nature and varying degrees of it. Not that anyone's gonna change their mind about anything.

Plenty of people living in darker regions have low Vitamin D despite spending a lot of time outside. Where I live most people have a Vitamin D deficiency because during the winter their levels get really low and during the summer their levels rise back into a healthy range, but not high enough to maintain healthy levels during the next winter. For this reason I and a lot of other people are told by their doctors to take supplements during the winter. Low vitamin D levels can contribute to people experiencing depression, so it's a really good idea to just take that out of the equation. Given where Lewis and Sips live and their lifestyles, they should probably be on Vitamin D supplements too.
