Wow I saw a doctor Locally and he said it would never go away and I have to do surgery. I told him I would like the steroid shot like he mentioned and he got mad! I guess he wasn't getting the big bucks for surgery. And I never went back to him agian for lying! My finger is just stiff and never locked up... Yet!.

Great explainer vid. I had my second lot of steroid injections this afternoon, I work 9-5 each day typing on a laptop, they advised me I should fully rest the hand and not even type for the next couple of days, would this really be the case ? Do you need to rest your hand to that extent after the injection? Might be a tricky one to explain to the boss...!

I have tried the injection both times I have dealt with trigger finger and it did come back and I had to have surgery. I am planning a second surgery for this summer.

The injections never worked for me. I had five trigger finger surgeries. Two on one hand and three on the other within four years, and now I’m experiencing it again ten years later in both index fingers…. I’m told it may be associated with my type 1 diabetes.

My pinkie just suddenly starting doing this a few minutes ago and I have no clue why. I can move it fine, but when I bend it, it suddenly snaps to a further position. Like imagine these numbers are the position changing: 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11. Like it’s skipping to a further angle/position when I bend it.

I’ve just seen a video and it’s helpful, all you need is a plaster, or bandaid as it is sometimes called. Hope this helps.

It just started happening to my hand. When I wake up and I open my hand ( right ) the pinky, ring finger kind of snaps open instead of smoothly opening

@@Corzafade Hey I'm having same symptoms you mentioned 😢

@@anzu6895 yeah I still have it and its inconsistent. Some days it doesn’t do it but most days it locks a few times. Try to squeeze your hand tight and rub the bottom of your finger so it doesn’t snap open. From what I’ve researched on, you don’t want it to snap because of the tissue or something will make it worse? But I’ve gone to the dr and he prescribed me some pills to reduce the inflammation ( trigger finger is an inflammation ) tbh I’m not sure if it’s doing anything. I’ve just been wearing a hand brace so that my hand does not close all the way while I’m asleep because that’s when I notice my fingers locking the most. I usually my fingers curl at the end of the brace so it closes to an extent but not all the way. That’s my update on my hand at the moment

The same 2 fingers on both my hands are doing this, started soon after I began weeding and clearing my garden. When finger bends it locks up and I have to take my hand and pullbit back up.

Will the sheathe heal on its own? If not, why do we need it. What is it for and will it cause problems later down the road?

try two weeks of super low carb diet, it will go away. The inflammation is what is making this happen.

same, I can't pop my 2 pinkies anymore. although it hasn't locked up yet, the range of motion is limited. right now im taking a muscle relaxant, and anti inflammatory, 2 cherry tart capsules a day with some cold therapy during the day and my fingers are showing signs of improvement. but then, why I go back to lifting weights they go back to being stiff in the morning and can't barely move.
