Thank you! I have lost over 100 pounds over a period of 4 years by eating real food like you recommended on this video. My cholesterol levels and blood sugars were all normal. Recently I was told I needed more protein and nuts and nut butters were recommended. My cholesterol went off the charts and my weight loss came to a halt. I only have 10 pounds to go to reach my goal. Now I am returning to my tried and true foods- yogurt for breakfast, salads with a variety of vegetables, and healthy protein like fish and chicken for dinner. This video was so helpful I’m sharing it with my family and friends.

@CozyRevolution So are you saying that you think the nuts and nut butters caused an increase in your cholesterol? They don't contain cholesterol so do you think the oils/fats in them somehow contributed to cholesterol staying in your blood? And weight gain?

Your cadence, tone and demeanor are nothing short of mesmerizing. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. It’s interesting…I have been doing a lot of fermenting as of late-carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, cucumbers (aka pickles) and even some fermenting in honey with garlic and other things. I have even been trying to create naturally fermented sodas with “ginger bug”. I have not yet mastered that. Yes the honey is high in sugar and so that needs to be slowed down. lol. But let me tell you!!!! I can be starving and I’ll eat a few big fermented carrots and I feel so full. I know I can’t build proper nutrition on that but it definitely gives a feeling of satiety. But what has me so excited is that the weight has been coming off and pretty quick. Almost to the point that I hoped I was okay. lol. I have wondered if it is all of the fermentation. And this video really makes me believe that it is! That feels so good!! I’ll be checking out more videos. This is my first one. Thank you!!!

These drugs seem so tempting to use for weight loss. My question is, what do you do once you loose your excess weight? Stay on these drugs, go on a diet 😢, or then change your eating habits as you describe? 2 years ago, I found Dr Becky and I have never looked back! During this time I have lost 76 lbs and I no longer take any medication for diabetes or high blood pressure! Bonus..... no outrageous cost for these drugs! By the way, I have maintained my weight loss and have a consistent A1C of 5.2. This is so do-able. Thank you so much Dr. Becky!
@matthewhunter64212 ай бұрын
Yes, you wod need to change your lifestyle if you want things to be different. You also need to be aware that these drugs cause muscle loss as well as fat loss, so less muscle burns fewer calories and makes it harder for your body to regulate glucose. It would be good to be sure you are trying to maintain muscle. I see the value in thee as short term measures to get people who are obese into a safer weight, but longer term they can do more harm than good if you rely on them

I am a type 2 diabetic and I tried Ozempic. I lost weight, but also lost muscle as well as fat. I experienced the side effects mentioned nausea, intermittent sharp pains in my stomach and once I vomited. Also, experienced explosive diarrhea going from that to constipation. I decided to take myself off of the Ozempic and start lifting weights to counteract any muscle loss that I may have experienced. While I acknowledge the side effects all pharmaceuticals come with side effects some more severe than others. To me personally it was worth it for me to try the Ozempic. It was worth it to me to jump start my weight loss now I am more confident going to the gym. I have been using the machines but have been hesitant to go to the area where the free weights are. Another factor for me in deciding to stop the Ozempic was the concern of my family members as well as the cost of the monthly medication.

Dr. Becky, This video was so timely! My husband was recommended this drug for his type diabetes diagnosis. I asked if we could wait and get more information. He agreed. What we are noticing is that there is a spike of glucose first thing in the morning; around 130. Immediately eating food gets it down to say 110 and then it goes up which it should do after he eats. Is this normal? He is using the free glucose monitor for the next 10 days. My biggest concern is that this won’t change behavior much for him. Like reading labels and eating on the run. One other question. Hot flashes in the night. Is diabetes connected to hot flashes? Your advice sounds good. Easy to follow. Can’t wait to dig into. Cindy

These are obviously good foods we should eat more of, but nothing like the actual peptide (they aren't drugs in the normal sense of the word).
