If you're referring to Dr. Eric Berg as a "scammer," he most certainly is not. Use a STRAW for any acidic intake to protect your teeth. Also, adjust the dosage so it's safe, too much acid can strain your kidneys. A couple of tablespoons worth before a major meal is enough, if you take more than dilute it in water. I add ACV to seltzer water and it becomes a refreshing drink, instead of the harsh flavor mixed with plain water. In a pinch, I will use balsamic vinegar in the seltzer water, giving the drink even a richer flavor, still gets rid of a stomach ache or eating too much, it helps digest that full feeling faster. For the years I have been fasting and following so many cooks who also fast, I created ACV popsicles! They are amazing. I use tumeric, (sometimes collagen), healing (non sweet) herbal tea (as the base=water), cayenne (the best part), stevia (based on which science studies you follow, does not break my fast or spike glucose), Lemon or Lime and sea salt (I prefer flower of the ocean). I make these ahead of time and they are simply delicious! When my mouth 'get lonely' and I was a beginner faster, I used this to bridge my fasting hours. Now I love them and have them even in my eating window after eating. My 'meals' are 'snack sized' and full of variety with protein as the opening act always (no shakes or bars, real protein). ACV is a MUST but besides salad dressings and marinades, there are so many ways to consume it!

@@sherylreed3558 Hi Sheryl! I have lost 9lbs in weight over the last sixteen days. I have found Dr Becky's advice extremely helpful and practical. It has helped me to make small but sustainable adjustments to my eating habits. I have cut out sugar and have a moderate protein, low carb diet without snacking. I think the most significant change for me has been re-setting my sleep schedule. I have spent the last four years only managing on between three and five hours sleep a night because I was uncomfortable and in pain - and when the pain was no longer there, the poor sleeping habits remained. I have found taking Vitamin D before bed helps the quality of my sleep and I've given myself a rigid bedtime so I can re-train myself with the same discipline that we use with children. I'm now getting between seven - nine hours sleep a night and feeling far better for it. I am not ready for 'advanced' fasting at this point. I have been eating between midday and seven in the evening and this is comfortable for me right now. I have been doing resistance training at the gym - 40 minutes four times a week and walking every day for at least half an hour. There are some good videos to be found on KZbin for chair fitness routines and chair-based yoga which might help you - I have been breaking up my working day with chair-based yoga since January, as my job is sedentary. I'm pleased with my current rate of progress because I am still on daily steroid medication (tapering by 1mg per month) and I'm feeling healthy with plenty of energy. I have 5 stone in weight to lose to return to my original weight before my illness and this does not seem so daunting now that I am finally losing for the first time in four years. Wishing you the best of luck with your weight loss journey, Sheryl and thank you so much for your interest. xxx

Not to be an ■sshole or whatever, but this video is a joke. Here's why: The lady clearly states that the goal is to control blood sugar levels but then tells you to drink vinegar *_instead of telling you to stop eating things that raise your blood sugars in the first place._* Can you see how much of a joke that is? It's like someone telling you to run 20 miles to burn off the pizza you just ate instead of telling you to not eat the pizza in the first place. If you want to lose fat rapidly, control your blood sugar levels with ease, and put diabetes (type 2) into full remission, just stop eating things that raise your blood sugar. In other words, cut out carbohydrates. All carbohydrates - including the ones from fruits and vegetables - break down into glucose after being eaten. That glucose (sugar) raises your blood sugar levels. Your body responds by releasing insulin. Insulin tells your cells to store any extra blood sugar that your muscles won't use as fat. In short: Carbs ⬇️ Sugar ⬇️ Insulin ⬇️ ✅️ Fat storing mode ❌️ Fat burning mode If you cut out the carbs, you never start that chain reaction that leads to fat storing mode and the new situation looks like this: ❌️ Fat storing mode ✅️ Fat burning mode Keeping your carbohydrate intake to 20g total per day is low enough to prevent that fat storing mode from triggering. But, if you want maximum fat burning mode, just cut out *_ALL_* carbs. For maximum fat-burning: ■ "Carnivore" diet - meat ( *_with the fat_* ), sea food, eggs, butter/ghee, salt, water ■ Eat one *_huge_* meal per day (lunch) ■ No carbs - bread, oats, cereal, candy, "health bars," fruit, fruit juice, vegetables I lost 30lbs in 90 days doing that. And I didn't do a minute of exercise. And I just got my before-and-after blood test results back - so many great improvements, and nothing got worse. Anyway, I'm sure this lady means well, but, she's offering some really strange advice here. Cutting carbs is the #1 best way to rapidly and safely lose fat. There are two downsides though: 1) Sugar withdrawals - you will probably get headaches, be tired, and irritable for a week because of coming off of sugar addiction. It can be miserable but it will pass. It's like quitting caffeine or nicotine. 2) Diarrhea (temporary) - Your gall bladder won't be used to making enough bile to process so much animal fat. This will cause diarrhea until your gall bladder "wakes up" and increases bile production. It took me about 9 days. Anyway, peace and love to everyone.

I like to get my ACV in the form of a homemade salad dressing...EVOO, ACV, mustard of some type, seasonings, etc...All great components for health. It makes it more tolerable, for me anyway. But liking the addition of cheese before bed w/my vinegar. I've sorta gotten outta the habit of taking ACV (or any kind of vinegar) before meals, to naturally lower my blood sugar after eating. Blessings from Iowa, Lauri

I add a Tbsp of ACV to 2 sometimes 4 bags of tea stepped in 14 ozs of water. AMAZING TASTE! It's like the natural sweetness of the tea is increased. It's my hot beverage in the morning that I eagerly look forward to drinking. Thanks Celestial Seasonings!❤

I hope that's not every day. That is not even close to enough protein. You may slim down, but you'll tank your muscle mass, wreck your metabolism, and it will make you weak in the long run. Plus you'll look slender but not shapely. Muscle mass is a big predictor of longevity. Those with the least muscle mass are more likely to die sooner. Nutrition is important, not just fat loss.

I just prepared a concoction of ACV, ginger juice and water in a quart Mason jar before viewing this. It's my go-to beverage when I want to feel refreshed. I suppose the ginger juice adds carbs I don't need, but I like the spicy heat it adds on a cold winter night. I have noticed whenever I have ACV my belly fat isn't quite as pronounced. For the next month, I'm going to adhere to your recommendation as I reconnect to my former Keto, IF plan to help lower my blood sugar and lose weight.

I do 16/8 intermittent fasting. Eat window is 8 am to 4 pm. Honestly, seriously...eating high protein, high ish fat during my eating window has made keeping this eating window easy. Yes, I mean easy.
@Livetoeat171 Жыл бұрын
You can do the same thing by intermittent fasting. Stop eating at 7 o'clock at night and don't eat again until noon or 1pm. That's a 16/8 hour window. It makes it so much easier because its too hard to stop eating at 2-3pm, but you just need the 16 hours of not eating every day. She says that the cheese will help while you're fasting in the evening...but once you put anything else in your stomach, you're not fasting anymore...that's why it's more beneficial to go from 7pm-1pm, because that really is fasting.

Hi Dr Becky, thanks as always for your great information. I practice intermittent fasting and once weekly do a prolonged fast weekly while in a weight loss coaching program. I am following a low carb diet. I am making a goal to do strength training at least 3x weekly. I am definitely insulin resistant, sigh working on it. I feel society pathologizes “Women and their hormones” however you present info that is up to date and respectful. I think we need to hear more about Andropause. Men ALSO have dwindling hormones and suffer from low testosterone as they age with a host of uncomfortable symptoms including brain fog, increased belly fat, erectile dysfunction. I know you are aware and I think we need to normalize this for men as well as women. Thank you as always for all the great info!

Thanks, Dr. Becky for your always calm, intelligent, science-backed advice. I find drinking ACV with lemon juice so much more palatable. Since I close my IF window at 3 or 3:30 pm, (and I think I'm finally insulin sensitive), I am hesitant to add cheese later in the day, regardless of the low carb content, but will definitely try the ACV close to bedtime.
