That looks great, looking forward to trying it. BUT may I suggest that when foraging, unless you're going to use the roots, leave them in the ground so the plant can grow back. 😊👍
@TrilliumWildEdibles2 жыл бұрын
This is a common sentiment but oftentimes misunderstood by well intentioned people. With Yarrow for example, since I'm using the entire above ground portion, cutting and leaving the root will not allow it to grow back so it makes sense to just pull it out completely. Also by pulling it out it allows other plants to grow with less competition, just like thinning in your garden. Notice how with the plantain I just picked the leaves instead of pulling it out? That's because just pulling leaves off stimulates the growth of newer leaves. With the sanicle and Jewelweed, the reasons for pulling are the same as the Yarrow, the plant was going to die anyway. Hope this clarifies for you.

Even if you aren’t thinking it will grow back, it’s introducing the possibility of getting that dirt in your harvest, and then there is The Who,e discussion of if it’s generally better for the soil life to not have the soil disturbance. Also, hypothetically, you can harvest the same volume from more plants and thus not kill them. If you’re wanting to have more growing

Excellent video Josh and very informative. Loved the pictures showing the effectiveness of the wash. I love making medicine and other concoctions like rose water and such things. Working with plants brings me so much peace and happiness, fills my heart and soul with joy that I give back to my medicine etc through the energy I put into the process. I also use crystals to charge my medicine etc with that particular energy. Most ppl don't believe in the validity of this practice but I know that it works. It's simply a frequency produced by the crystal which is transferred into the liquid. I never put the crystals in the liquid though as it is not necessary and doing so can be harmful since many crystals are toxic if ingested. I put the medicine in a glass bottle and place the crystal beside it and let it do its own work. I have dedicated many many hours over the last few years to understanding how crystals work and I share this information with anyone who is receptive and interested in learning about the subject. It is not complicated at all its simply about vibrations and frequencies. I encourage anyone who has chronic disease/pain or any physical, emotional or mental issues to educate themselves on the subject and then incorporate healing crystals into their treatment of their illness or issue. Sending u lots of blessings for great health, happiness and love in ur life.
@PureU0Artificial2 жыл бұрын
Crystals are pretty rocks, they are not meant to be used in the way you’re using them. That is considered as a form of witchcraft. We are not to pervert or worship creation. Please look into this. I suggest looking up Doreen Virtue, Steven Bancarz and a few others.

It's best to use white and pink Yarrow as other colored varieties can be more irritating in some cases whereas others can be poisonous.
@wuznotbornyesterda2 жыл бұрын
That's great if you have all the plants. I don't have any yarrow in my area, nor have I ever heard of the canadian something you mentioned. So what could I do? I would can some jars of this if I can find the plants. Also, I would take the initial water and throw the whole thing in a blender to pulse, then boil it and strain. Or I would chop it up with my chef's knife.
@wuznotbornyesterda2 жыл бұрын
Seriously, I have googled many many times anything that could sould like that canadian plant and I can't find the plant or anything similar. Nothing! What names does it have, where dies it grow and what can I use in place of it?
@TrilliumWildEdibles2 жыл бұрын
It's in the description of the video but it's called Canadian Sanicle or Sanicula cansdensis. It grows all over most of the Eastern United States and in several portions of the U.S. west of the Mississippi. Yarrow grows all over the U.S. and in a good portion of southern Canada. So if you can't find Yarrow you might just have to look in other places. If you can't find the Sanicle you can just not add it, the wash will still work very well. Yarrow is an important ingredient though so if you're unable to find it in the wild you can order it online, just make sure it's the white or pink flowered variety as the others can cause irritation or be mildly poisonous.

Nice content. The only thing I don't understand - why would you pull the whole plant from the ground, when you are using only above ground section of the plant? It is contrary to sustainable way of collecting plants.
