this does not take away anything from the Sahaba or their positions, but from the Ulema, we still only take what has been authentically reported by the Prophet, Sallalahu Alayhi wa Salaam. So trimming the beard, the majority of the scholars, based on the proof and evidences, state it is impermissible, although there may be some Scholars who allow it. the point is, the people of Sunnah follow the evidences, not the best argument.

Mashallah sheikh fawzann is reknown scholar, his view is it it is not mentioned in the hadeeth to take from the beard, but both narrator of the hadith did take from the beard , ibn umar, abu hurayra and who knows better how the hadith is applied than those who narrated it as no way they would go against the sunnah hence the dalil of sheikh al albani that is wajib to take from the beard as opposed to people such as sikhs.

graiant The companions actions do not rule over that of the Prophet. The Prophet commanded that men keep beards, let them grow, leave them, etc. so we see a beard is a command. We have zero evidence to show that the one who commanded it, ever took from it. Also, SOME (not all) companions took what was beyond a fist full ONLY, and did so ONLY after Hajj/Umrah. That’s the only time they took from it. Which shows the rest of the time they had beards longer than that, otherwise those Hadith would not have specified when they took from them. Those Hadith you mentioned all say verbiage that they took what was beyond a fist after hajj/Umrah. Never did they take more than that, and the whole point of those Hadith is to illustrate that hajj/Umrah was a period in which they chose to take from. Those times were singled out-which shows they kept beards at all other times and only cut from them after hajj/Umrah. Allah knows best.

1) The statements from Ibn Umar, Radiallahu Anhu, are not authentically reported to him. 2) Even if it was authentically reported, it is clear that he trimmed whatever was in excess of his fist only after Hajj and Umrah, and not during any other time. Also, you should know that many of the Sahaba did things out of Ijtihaad, and of course would not contradict the Prophet, Sallalahu Alayhi wa Salaam, but for one reason or another performed an act a different way based on their understanding.

@muslimallday Shaykh Al-Albaani (who is also Salafi in his Manhaj) held a different opinion than this, and he found, produced & authenticated clear-cut evidences and proofs that support his position of recommendation of trimming the beard. Abu Hurayrah, Ibn 'Umar, many other Sahaabah, and also from the greatest Scholars from the Salaf of the Tabi'oon (students of the companions). He cites their authentic reports, and then concludes that this is the proper interpretation of the Prophetic Hadiths.

@@holdshiftt2run308 of course there’s always exceptions to everything I was speaking on general ruling and I never said if you don’t grow a beard you’re a disbeliever why would you bring up khawarij and compare me to khawarij? and even with salah there’s difference of opinion because prophet said if a person deliberately abandons prayer plus there are other Hadiths that mention a person being a disbeliever for doing acts other than prayer but those acts are not considered disbelief that take a person outside of Islam but nice deflection Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) saying in the hadeeth: "There are two matters in my ummah, by which (my) Ummah falls into kufr: Reviling the genealogy and wailing/lamenting (over the dead)" reported in Muslim “Abusing a Muslim is fisq, and killing him is kufr.” Reported by Muslim Prophet said “Speaking about the favours of Allaah is giving thanks (shukr), and leaving it is kufr”

Lazarus Gods perimeters are what matters. Not the perimeters of your culture at the present time. God does not care what random people think. God didn’t seem to think beards were gross, lazy, dirty etc. when each and every Prophet had them. If you choose culture over what God wants, then expect what comes with that. Following cultural norms is ignorant. China has a culture of atheism, so should people follow that? Culture of the ancient Romans was that grown men had young boys for sexual purposes, so is that something you think is a good culture to follow? Look up the history of the word “gymnasium” and you will see that it came from a a culture who had rooms designed for naked men to wrestle each other. I don’t think anyone should bend their beliefs to culture. Follow what God wants. God sent messengers to show and tell us what God wants, and each one had a beard. Follow that. Shaykh Albani (Rahimahullah) said “One proof is sufficient for the seeker of truth, but 1000 proofs is not enough for the person of desires".

Abdulmalik ramiz Walekum Assalam Sheikh said that we don't take rulings on beard from 4 major madahabs but from the ahadees. So according to his opinion trimming beard is not permissible. And Allah knows best

Also ibn ummar narrated the hadith about letting the beard grow, ibn ummar is also reported to trim his beard before umrah, so are we to assume this sheik here understood the hadith better than the one who narrated it from the lips of the Prophet sws the son of Ummar the most knowledgeable in islam of the sahaba ra known for his strictness to the sunnah and his hatred for bidah, would he do that in front of the muslims if it was haram?

@muslimallday Also the command to let a thing grow and the command never to touch it are two different things, I don't understand why many of the ulima took the literal approach with the beard when they don't and of course cant take that stance on other issues, except that they wanted to be careful which is praiseworthy, but not only the lack of evidence for trimming being forbidden but ibn umars understanding does that not count heavily? Both opinions have legitimacy best to be safe but haram?
