am I the only one who thought that you can't repair footwear like this. this is incredible
@jesseward6938Ай бұрын
The reason most people don't repair shoes like this is that it usually costs the same or more than a new pair. The unfortunate thing is that shoes that are easier and worth repairing are pricey. It was really cool to see the process of how it works.

@@jesseward6938 I was more coming from a place where the whole footwear is one whole rubber item. I didn't think it was possible to do it like he does on a normal leather shoe where you can see there are different parts.

Crocs makes multiple pairs of Crocs with actual rubber 'sneaker' type tread on the bottom. I have a pair worn daily around the house. I got these specifically because of the sole on bottom has real tread & traction, unlike the regular version that's very slippery on water especially when worn smoother like these ones. Also has nice Velcro adjustable '4x4' heel straps(would've been better for this customer?) so you can get the heel fit correctly. Nice to see these brought back & upgraded, I really like that sole tread, looks very grippy. 👌🏻👍🏻
@pacobell97Ай бұрын
@tdotw77 It's wild how many types of crocs there are. But the more shoe/moccasin style crocs that you are talking about are so much nicer than the soft rubber foam types and more comfortable imo.

I wear a US size 15 in Crocs and have to replace them every couple of years. One thing I've noticed is that the sizing is inconsistent because they're made in in multiple countries now. Fortunately heating or cooling them lets you adjust the size a little bit and it makes for a nice snug fit. Probably my favorite thing about Crocs is that the insole shapes to your foot over time and makes them real comfortable.
@madMARTYNmarsh1981Ай бұрын
I've noticed that size discrepancy in a lot of clothing these days. I'm a UK size 10.5 in footwear. If I buy Nike and they were made in China, I have to buy a UK 12! If they were made in Bangladesh the same shoe, in the same shop, can be completely different in size. I'm not sure if you have the foot measuring things in the USA (I assume you have. It's one of the things you stand on and move a slide up and down to find the correct foot size) but I've stood on one of those wearing a Bangladesh made pair of Adidas and it said one foot was a UK size 9 while the other was a UK size 13... Both were marked as a UK 10 😂
@nwi_aztecАй бұрын
@madMARTYNmarsh1981 A Brannock Device? Yeah we have those. One thing I know for sure is that Nike shoes tend to have a more narrow toe box. I've been mostly wearing New Balance these days. Though when I get groceries or just out to pick up food I wear my Crocs because they're so comfortable.

Videos and cobblers like this are the reason I am attempting to save my manufacturer specified "non repairable" boots. No professionals want to touch them, understandably, but I will attempt a novice at home resole myself. 🤞
@madMARTYNmarsh1981Ай бұрын
Have you asked Dan? At the very least, he could help you decide how to do it. Dan is the Louis Rossman of cobbling; repairing things manufacturers intended to be disposable and exposing them (although, nowhere near as viciously as Rossman does 😂) for the lies they tell about their eco-friendly credentials.
