Idk if It’s just me but the buck trinket keeps turning 1 star animals to 3 Star pelts and skins pretty consistently 😎 I’m a trader Grinder so I do a lot of hunting.

The horse core bug is back. Thats why your horse is always dirty and you can't ride through valentine without feeding it(as a form of distance, not the actual town).

They're all worth buying imo. Since they're all permanent bonuses, they have solid long term value. New players should definitely have higher priorities, but a permanent reduction in gun degradation is definitely a good thing. You may not have a horse now to bond, but they're constantly adding new ones so that doesn't mean you won't be getting more. And picking twice as many herbs means that much less time picking herbs, this one also has the implication that they may add more that double other herbs, which could be great for crafting special tonics.

I only bought the gun slower degradation and the horse bonding extra. I have all stalls full but sometimes I discard and buy a new one, in the case of the Cob it came in very handy, fast faster to bond. Nobody is really talking about about the trinkets. Thanks for this. I’ve been having problems finding legendary animals in free roam. Got only 2 so far. The boar in the bayou and the teca alligator only because I somehow got a random solo lobby. I was playing with my brother and he got the legendary cougar outside of Blackwater and Elk over near Armadillo without being alerted. They appeared with no yellow paw but it showed that he killed it on my screen. I saw it, the animals were standing there not even running away. Just taking bullets to the face. He even made the garment set out of them.

believe me, the bonding trinket works wonders. as of the recent update i've been buying new horses very often just so i can experience what each breed is like. I went from about 2-3 days of playing to get lvl 4 bonding to just about 3 hours. crazy cause 10% isn't even that much.

As for the trinkets, I got the gun degradation one quickly after the update dropped, because I noticed my gun oil consumption had drastically increased, to the point I couldn't keep up solely with the gun oil I loot through gameplay.

@@Opsraw they made the weapons degrade faster and they made all cores horse and player degrade faster. Heat and cold drain your character faster. You lose weight faster I went from red overweight to red underweight in a day of play. Conveniently they added hardy tonic to negate weather effects and a weight gain tonic that cost 150. They did a bunch of stuff

My trader camp is in Lagras, in the sun aligator area, and I supply my trader shop with alligators. The pelts trinket is very good for me, since the alligators don't run that fast and I kill about 20 a time, always 2 shotting them from behind since the head is impossible to hit. It really helps me. Also the cost of alligator teeth is helping a lot too. I can fully re-supply in 5 minutes or less. Before naturalist update, Lagras was cancer as a trader; now it's heaven.

The Buck Antler Trinket has a chance to upgrade donated carcasses to Cripps also. I got about a 30% upgrade rate on donations. Not sure if it's intended, but getting my good carcasses upgraded is pretty worth it.

Got them apart from horse bonding and horse core drain. I have 5 lvl4 bonded horses. Bonding is enjoyable, so is feeding - wild carrot always: free and ubiquitous.

The most recent update kind of demoralized me the more I played it. The payout from the role is awful, thus once you get the respective pelts from the legendary animals I don't see much reason to do anything more. The impact that you hunt down these legendary animals is negligable and does not have any longlasting effect, whether financially or otherwise: you just hunt animals just because. There should be a clearcut reward for hunting these animals. 20 bucks for the pelt of the onyx wolf is a joke.

I don't really understand what you mean. What type of reward do you think would add greater value to the Legendary animals? I agree with you for the most part though. I believe this was a necessary update because it makes free roam more interesting and makes the world more dynamic. But I don't think it was meant to be grinded out or played as the sole focus. Yet the fact that they didn't release anything for like 8 months means that everyone's gonna do this exclusively which should've been more in the background. kinda how the compendium in story mode is in the background and you decide to do it if you want to

I did get all the trinkets. Mainly because I had tons of money and collectibles. I would only recommend the one that double your herbs, and the one that gives you a chance at better pelts. The pelt one, at least for me, seems to improve the quality of gator, elk, and buffalo hides. As for horse-feeding. I just feed them wild carrots as I come by them. They're practically everywhere.

Have you seen how bad the Bounty Wagon and Hunting Wagon has gone, when you go to stables and go vehicles and go to owned vehicles, both of them literally say "your vehicle is being summoned" I haven't clicked on them either, their broken, if you click on either of them it wont work, so you have to find the nearest stable and take it out that way, which is absolute bollix

To add something to the Buck Trinket, it does not affect any pelt that must be stored on your horse and it can also upgrade a perfect kill small animal 2 star to a 3 star. That being said, its terrible compared to its counterpart in singleplayer where it activates very frequently. Overall the only significant one is the Ram horn. The weapon degredation one seemingly doesnt work when a wrap is equipped and its believed Rockstar made guns degrade faster with the update, same for horse cores (my horse seems to be perpetually dirty sonce the update).

Any of you notice how fast your guns degrade now too regardless if you are using them or not? I know swimming degrades all your equipped guns pretty quickly, so I avoid going into water. I noticed this while hunting after I had just cleaned all my guns. I only used my Bolt-action Rifle and my Varmint Rifle but somehow my Sawed Off Shotgun and my Semi-auto Pistol which I did not used and had just cleaned were damaged when I returned to Cripps. I did not crash off of my horse, enter the water on foot or while mounted and I also did not fall down or slide while on foot or mounted. It also did not rain during this trip either. My horse did become dusty from riding around and bloody from the carcasses. I brushed it when I returned to camp. I was also dusty and bloody from riding and hunting. I only shot enough to fill my horse up with some rabbits and a 3 star buck so it was a relatively short trip. I was hunting by Valentine and Twin Peaks in the Heartlands. My camp was by that tree with all the bottles and dream catchers hanging from it. I turned in my quarry and brushed my horse and replaced my clothes with clean ones I then went to clean my guns and restock. I then noticed the guns I did not use were dirty. The Bolt-action Rifle and Varmint Rifle were about 3 times dirtier with about a full bar of degradation missing from both guns. My Semi-auto Pistol and Sawed-off Shotgun had a bout 1/3 of a bar of degradation and they had not been used. I do not own the trinket. It also feels like they get considerably dirtier in free roam combat. I think its because R* added a passive degeneration to our guns or at least increased it. If it was there already, it was hardly noticeable. It also feels like there is more degeneration per shot. onlyPVPCat, would you be willing to test this for us?

They could definitely have had more fun with the trinkets. Like the one for the pelts should have just been for the carcass if the carcass would have gone down to 2 stars or was a 2 star carcass there would be a chance to keep it perfect 3 star or keep the carving theme and make it yeald 50% more meat.

They need to give additional bonuses to the trinkets with percentages when people hit level ranges. Level 50-75, should give trinkets an extra 5%, 76-100 an extra 10%, 101 and up an extra 5%.

The trinket that’s says it slows drain rate of your horses cores seems to increase the drain rate of the cores. Maybe it’s bugged? I know rockstar is very careful about bug testing before new content is released, so maybe it’s just my perception.

I do hope they do add more trinkets. Have ones that maybe involve legendary animal parts. Best trinket they could add is where people cant paint you using pib. If they added that i would buy it, even if ir required 5 different legendary animal parts and cost $5000

I hope they will never add something like that. Would create even more of an unlevel playing field, especially since trinkets are plain upgrades as opposed to taking slots like ability cards (meaning you have to choose). Even though they are pretty useless, I like that the current ones don't give you a competitive advantage.

@@gharretje how would it be un levelled? People who use pib still get their pefect accuracy they just can't paint you. Wouldn't be unfair at in any way, who knows some of the playerbase might learn some things if they cant use their painting crap. Its funny when I've free aimed somone in the head with a throwing knife or something people always assume 2 things. You're either cheating or you use pib which is literally how its gotten to.

@@SubaruWRC1996 hmm, let's call it levels. New player, level 1, no PIB. Longer time player who has the money and level requirements to get PIB, level 2. Has an advantage over level 1. Adding a counter to level 2 is not really reachable to level 1 guy, since he's new. So the guy that has the counter is level 3 (or 2.5) since he can still also use PIB but not be suspectible to it, so he has better abilities than someone with just PIB, and way more abilities/stats than someone who hs none. I mean, imagine a new player, that founds out PIB, he can (eventually) level the field by also getting PIB. By adding also a counter, he also has to get that counter. If he doesn't have both, he's even more at a disadvantage.

Even though the collector map got nerfed I found the Dana topaz on the first try using the collector God map. I think they just slightly changed a few locations and made the really valuable collectibles slightly randomized on which item you'll get.

After looking at the trinkets I decided that the only ones worth my money were the Beaver Tooth (teeth actually) and the Buck Antler trinkets but after buying them Ive had just 1 improved pelt and Ive no idea how the weapon degradation is working so all in all Id say they're a total wast of money. A bit like the Elephant gun, should have just called it a 'white Elephant' gun for all the use it is. In fact Id say the while update is looking like a waste of time and money to me now, as instead of running round collecting sets of coins and jewelry that made loads of money now I'm just running round taking samples from sedated animals to make not much money at all.

Are the animal items from legendary animals, or just normal animals? I've been unable to get trinkets and I'm feeling frustrated because I don't know what exactly is required. Some people say legendary, so I've been trying to hunt them without any success. Would appreciate help on this.

Those 3 herbs are so easy to find and grow bunched up. If it was all herbs then I'd get it but just 3 not worth it imo. And I'd say the best way to feed your horse is wild carrots.

the snowy egret trinket is a waste im not sure if this effects anyone else but my horse gets dirty every few minutes seems like this update made that happen alot more often, and the horse cores drain faster now so that trinket basically doesnt decrease horse drain it just slightly pushes it under what the core drain rate was before the update.

I thought one of my horses was just being picky. A Foxtrotter, maybe? I didn't think it was doing it on my Bretons but now I'm going to have to check. One annoying AF thing is when I'm swapping horses between races (I use different ones depending on what type of race it is); if I get on a horse that is dirty for whatever reason, I can't make that go away. I legit had to go into free roam, swap in my dirty horse and brush the thing. And all of these horses have gold cores from the upgrade service at the stable. It makes no sense to me that you can visit a stable with a dirty horse, use the upgrade service (whatever it's called, I can't remember. The $7.50 thing) and the horse comes out with gold cores but is still "dirty". It's dumb.

@@grayhatjen5924 IDK maybe this update made the horses like dirt now, one thing i know for certain is that my horse dont follow me around as much when i call it, and throws me faster when it see threats. Rockstar made the horses into a bunch of jackasses.

Can we not sell legendary items to a fence anymore? I could have sworn i saw it, but now i dont see an option to craft trinkets at the fence.
