Absolutely excellent! Perfectly understood! No dead points! The thinking of the composer stands out very very well! Emotional, believable, inspired and intuitive.

This recording was gifted to me by a friend. It is the greatest interpretation of this work, and should be the first one that a person listens to if they want to experience the music in its pristine beauty.

I am so pleased that this version and recording of the Rachmaninov Trio #1 performed by the Borodin Trio has been uploaded! This is the finest recording of this beautiful work that I have had the pleasure of hearing. The young 20-year-old composer was moved to compose this heart-rendering tour de force when he heard of the untimely death of his patron, Tchaikovsky in 1893. I think you can hear his grief at the sudden loss. I think that this work should be up there with all of the other great surcharged late romantic masterpieces by this composer, including the other Second Trio, the 4 Piano Concertos, the Isle of the Dead, the Second and Third Symphonies and his last orchestral work, the 3 Symphonic Poems! My apologies to any other Rachmaninov lovers out there who feel that I've missed something from this list!

I believe you were referring to Rachmaninov's Trio élégiaque No. 2 in D minor, Op. 9, composed 15/27 December 1893, dedicated to P.Tchaikovsky who died November 6, 1893 .

I was never a great admirer of Rachmaninoff, until I discovered his chamber work, especially the cello sonata in G minor, and now this trio. Absolutely marvelous music. Thank you!

Listen to the Bárta and Lapšanský performance. Also Menardi and Zecchi. They are both stupendous. I'll try Lugansky and Kniazev's. THanks. The sonata is out of this world, perhaps the most beautiful thing ever written .

I might be mistaken but I believe this piece was done 2 years prior to Tchaikovsky's death and Rachmonanov composed élégiaque #2 upon learning of Tchaikovsky's passing. It is extremely beautiful.

This was amazing! By far this was the best interpretation I've encountered, others played either too fast or too rough(?). The world was a better place when people like Yuli Turovsky were in it. Thank you for uploading this.

You know what the sad thing is: they just dont make music like this anymore. To clarify, I'm an 18 year-old young man who loves this work beyond redemption. I listen to it in my car all the time and am learning how to play the piano part now. Such a soulful treasure this is, ESPECIALLY from 8:00 to 9:15

I have that performance on CD as well. It is magnificent. One does not need to listen to anyone else. The argument that Russians play Rachmaninoff as it should be is hard to refute.

Keine schlechte Aufnahme.
@leoalex2001 Жыл бұрын
