TRIP REPORT / Air Mauritius A330-NEO Kuala Lumpur - Mauritius [ECONOMY CLASS]

Today, I flew the A330-NEO of Air Mauritius from Kuala Lumpur to Mauritius. It was my first time flying the A330Neo and I was impressed by the quietness of the engines...
However, the IFE system was really faulty and I was pretty disappointed by it ...

MK's 2-4-2 seating arrangement on its A330neo is a big plus!

Flew the same plane on both legs to and from Kuala Lumpur in March 2023. Loved the aircraft for its comfort and quietness. The 2-4-2 configuration is great.

1:44 the terminal is actually very busy pre-covid. In fact, the airport authorities better plan another terminal for full service carriers as traffic is projected to keep growing and the current terminal is really old and insufficient to cater for increasing passenger numbers.

Thank you for your comment. The day I took this flight, the airport looked empty and the terminals were quite deserted compared to the size of the airport. There were only 3/4 planes in the international terminal the day i went there. Also, the int terminal was indeed very rusty and the organization at the airport was horrendous, for example at the immigration the day I arrived (on another report), I stayed 3 hours in the queue for immigration. They used to operate this route via Singapore before Covid. I hope they reinstate it soon.

Yes I took it once on the A330-300… it was so much easier before, but I’m pretty sure with the growing demand they’re gonna reopen it

Recently travelled LHR to Mauritius. Seat lay out good with ample knee space much better than some other flights. Airbus 330 good. Service good and all info systems worked. Mauritius was great. Majority descendants of Indian with Malay and Chinese minorities.. Though Indians were majority all other races had equal rights in all fields. A secular country. No discrimination in favor of majority like Malaysia. a lesson for Malaysian leaders.

As à mauritian i can.tell you as a mauritian wherever our origins are différent.first of all we consider ourselves Mauritian first and our beleifs and origins come after. All Mauritians speak créole thé national language ( french dialect) and mixed marriage is increasing fast.people live in perfect harmony in their neighbourhood within différent religions.Mauritius is very special comparing to many countries where indians origins are présent.

Nice video. Yeah I agree with you KLIA likes so empty now, miss those days when lot of european airlines serve them such as Air France, British Airways and Lufthansa.

Hi thanks for your comment ! On my flight back I actually saw a 777-200 of KLM but yeh now the airport is quite empty but the traffic is slowly increasing

Air Mauritius is a good airline. Still have my amenity kits from 2019 when I did this exact trip on Chagos Archipelago' (sister A339 to Apravasi Ghat which you flew). Really good quality amenity kit. Just not sure about using a dodo design for an airline amenity kit.. 'dead as a dodo'? Hopefully not!

@@inflighttravel5304 MK were good, everything worked well. Crew were attentive, food good. I travelled onwards to Reunion ( on their A350, back on an ATR). Huge fan of the A330 neo. Awesome aircraft for economy travellers. Better than the A350. Glad to see Air Mauritius emerge from Administration post Covid.
