Great report! Alitalia is a good airline, but the legroom in the back rows on some of their A320s may be unbearable for the flights more than an hour long...

Actually i think having a trip from milan to rome by plane is less convenient than the train due to the higher cost and the similar time (plane 1hour + transfer to the center, train 3 hours directly to the center and you can work during the trip).

Most of LIN-FCO passengers are connecting at FCO and fly to other Alitalia destinations or rent a car to reach places not connected to high speed trains.

And then the remaining air traffic is eaten up by cheaper airlines like EasyJet.

Sono stato un comandante pilota alitalia, ora in pensione, quando l'alitalia era una splendida compagnia, purtroppo e' stata rovinata da una cattiva gestione manageriale. Vincenzo

Dispiace anche a me vedere Alitalia ridotta in questo modo, con personale qualificato che viene bistrattato da scelte manageriali errate e la loro professionalità che non viene adeguatamente riconosciuta nei momenti di difficoltà. Sono stato un felice passeggero di Alitalia già da piccolo, volando prevalentemente su 747-200, MD-11, DC-9 e MD-80 negli anni ‘90 a 2000. Poi mi sono concentrato sul corto / medio raggio, per cui A320 family e ERJ. Viene il magone ora vedere i phase-out di tanti aerei, nonché veder sparire l’iconica A sulla coda.

Alitalia was horrible ! We flew from London to Rome on a 319 scare bus and the played rolled from side to side horribly. Never again!
