The happiness I have of my favorite KZbinr visiting my home country XD. I have some sad news though, that same airline group, ComAir has ceased operations ever since 1st June as they ran out of funds and may not fly soon, leaving us with Airlink and SafAir to take care of low-Cost flights [ :( ] because they used to partner with South African Airways and somehow got corrupt people from them (same as Mango)

Itai! 4 flights just booked to and from Tel Aviv! I saw that Gulf Air will be operating a one off B787-9 to TLV, had to book. Also El Al is now flying to DWC during the DXB runway closure, so quite interesting, had to book that too. And then of course the Emirates inaugural one😎 and back with flydubai. South Africa is indeed wonderful, specially food & wine, the only problem is overall safety. And the fact that in your subconscious you’re always wondering about your belongings or safety really ruins the experience. I did fine this trip but a work colleague had her phone stolen while I was busy filming those steaks 🤷🏻♂️ Other then that, stay cool and thanks for watching yet again!

I'm not a lawyer, but a simple man who just doesn't like to offend what someone loves. If you have a problem flying an "old aircraft" simply don't fly it, but not hurt other feelings. Back to the topic. Another Excellent video! I prefer the 737 cfm engines y en el a320, los V2500. They are old, but decently quiet while delivering engine sound, so more balanced for me. Can wait for the next video!
@TheLayoverAviation2 жыл бұрын
You’re right. And even if planes are old, the interiors really just depend on the operator.. On the A320 I prefer the older CFM’s, the ones on the old A320-111 and A320-211 series. It has a pointy engine cone instead of rounded one. I have a video somewhere on a Lufthansa A319 from Helsinki to Frankfurt with one of those, but wasn’t seated in front of the engine.. I can’t wait people call it old already! I remember as a kid the A320 was so new and I was always looking forward to fly it. Time goes fast.. See you around soon!

What a lovely compliment Chiara, thank you! No need to be a frightened flier, it’s so much riskier to take a bicycle or a city bus then a plane😝 It’s not nonsense, I perfectly understand. Also where i have a concern is regarding where some airlines are strictly monitoring pilots performance for flying green which I believe would force the pilot to cut corners inorder to stay green and get appraisals which would effectively compromises safety of passengers. There was such an issue sometime back in India with AirAsia regarding this policy.
@TheLayoverAviation2 жыл бұрын
I completely agree.. Not only for green, it’s mostly for cutting costs as much as possible. There is now apps for the tablet/phone where you can see your (confidential) company data. And yes, now many focus mostly on doing well on those statistics as their upgrades/promotions are depending on it as well. I fully agree with what you say and I think it does more damage then good. Unfortunately many airlines do this. I say; let aviators do what they do best. AirAsia is one of those examples, yes.. With the constant flap 3 landing, idle reverse, minimum fuel and single engine taxi’s. I noticed over 10 years ago and was wondering if it’s even fun to fly there.

Excellent vid packed with really interesting information, still can't understand why Boeing didn't develop a brand new 737, they still have the look of a 1970s aircraft apart from fancy wingtips. The comment about the population of SA not getting on with each other is so true and certainly puts a lot of travellers visiting. BA seem to be doing a good job there.
@TheLayoverAviation2 жыл бұрын
Most of the features are actually still from then, such as the nose, doors and fuselage. Designing a brand new plane costs billions in development costs, by updating the B737 they just save a lot of money. Plus it already works, so it’s easier. But yes, time to change. The B737 Max accidents are some sign of it. BA’s job there is done😢. I’m sad for Comair. I had no idea they were on the verge of bankruptcy when I flew with them. No wonder many of the staff told me they were applying for Emirates when I told them that I was living in Dubai..
