Amazing trip report as always 😊, I'm from Mumbai, runway 32 is actually active only when the main runway is under regular maintenance, approximately 5-6 hours, 2-3 times in a week. It's kinda rare to experience a takeoff or landing from runway 14/32.

@@TheLayoverAviation yes it does affect operational efficiency as the runway short as compared to the main one and as a result aircrafts like a380 an An 124 never use the secondary runway. Therefore they use the secondary runway only in less traffic times like in afternoon

Outstanding trip report .My father went to Singapore from Delhi just 2-3 months ago for his job as he works in Bank of America and when travelled first time there from Singapore Airlines ,he did not felt good but when he went Singapore from Vistara Airlines ,he said "If I'll go Singapore from Delhi or Delhi to Singapore, I shall be travelling from Vistara airlines and he also said that Singapore's Changi airport is Marvellous.

I’m happy about that decision. Most of Indians are traveling with other airlines such as Emirates, Qatar and Singapore Airlines so items about time India gets one mega airline with great service instead of everyone competing with a subpar product. This will go down as one of my favourites as you flew to my former home Mumbai. I have had many landings on RWY 32-14 when the primary one was shut due to maintenance. That too on an Air India 747. Fond memories.

Glad it is so Neville. For me it was my first time on runway 32, I think I’ve visited some 20 times.. Much better views! From what I understood by a viewer is that the long runway was likely closed for maintenance. Well much needed it it’s under that much pressure as a single runway airport, I guess..!

I'm a bit late but would like to add a tidbit: I don't know much about anything about an approach from runway 14, but if you were to approach from 32 and looked down to your left just a couple of minutes before touchdown, you would first see the Bombay port and then some huge buildings (one even looks like a silo) before passing over a mountain. Those buildings are part of India's premier nuclear research centre. (For a little bit of trivia, when India tested the nuclear bomb successfully in 1998 makingthem a nuclear power, the materials for the bomb did originate from here.) I know this because I lived close to it. Except for the employees, absolutely NO ONE is permitted to enter it. In fact, the employees themselves were prohibited from carrying their personal electronic gadgets with them inside.

Hey, love your videos!! You must be wondering why Mumbai airport doesn't use both their runways the way other airports do. It's because if the runway is damaged at point of intersection, both runways can't be used, thus they use only 1 runway to minimize the risk. One thing I don't understand about Vistara is that it has mixed reviews. Some people have a superb experience with Vistara while others hate it. Anyways, there are talks over merging Vistara with Air India, do you think it's a good idea?

At many airports they will allow you to bring water past security. And some Asian airports have a 7-11 after security. I do remember that I was allowed to bring water past security at SIN if it was sealed.. They can’t really deny you water consumption on a plane!

It is the best indeed! I love eating with my hands but yes, I reckon that in an aircraft it’s very bad as people have to touch the IFE and wait in lines for the toilet to wash.. Better with cutlery!

We face forward of the cabin so that we may check if any IFE malfunction during the safety demo and then reset accordingly. The screen freezes sometimes.

I think it’s an A321 NEO thing, not some defect. It probably doesn’t need the deflection when used as spoilerons. They all went up after touchdown, so I think that’s the reason. Well observed!
