I've heard English football pundits slag off Wrexham. They downplay the significance of their achievements because their owners have deep pockets and can out-spend the opposition. Wrexham are doing no more than to play the game by the established rules. What they are doing in the National League is no different to what is being done in every football league in Europe. If you want equitability and parity, do what the Americans do, and implement caps on player and manager's wages, as well as transfer fees. If that concept is unpalatable, then shut up and enjoy Wrexham's success. The players worked hard, and the town has earned it.

@capsulito It is with *pundits* in general, specifically English pundits, that I take issue. And even then, it is only with those who disparage what is happening at Wrexham simply because the club's owners can afford the wages of better players/managers/staff/facilities/etc. I am American and do not claim otherwise. However, you are correct. My ethnic ancestry does indeed match my Irish surname. Like millions of people across the world, I am descended from Famine refugees. But that was long ago. No one alive today had any part of the Crown's Penal Laws, nor of the injustice nor hardship they created. In rebuttal, I simply say this: whatever distaste I may have for English opinions on the topic of football is strictly rooted in my status as a football fan, and not in my national identity or ethnic heritage. The Wrexham fairy tale is not what is happening to the club today. It is rather what happened when Reynolds and McElhenney bought the club and made their financial commitment to it. The EPL is little more than a competition to discover who will finish behind the top four clubs (the same four which have won 28 of the last 31 league championships). I can't help but enjoy the drama of watching someone else grab a headline. Fair disclosure: I am a Celtic fan, and have been for over forty years. Yes, the reason I'm a Celtic fan is that they are the club of the Irish immigrant diaspora, of which I am part. And yes, in spite of my club's current domestic success (which I confess, I am enjoying), I am even more harshly critical of the competitive imbalance in Scotland than I am of the English league. I honestly don't understand why European fans in general don't rise as one and demand some kind of reform. It would be objectively more entertaining if league races weren't a forgone conclusion before the season even started.

This match really showcased how much better wrexham is. They called every bad call you could think of against us and nothing against them and we still beat them ! Horrific ref calls . Either way we'll done reds up the town and way to go fozzy

The ref made a really good spot for that 96th min penalty as well The linesman had a bad game but thought the ref was ok. Missed the pen on Mullin but human's make errors
