But time is money and I still think that the overheating of the camera is a big handicap. I prefer to carry an external battery with no time limit on the R5C than having to wait (1 hour?) for it to cool down to be able to record 18 minutes more.

Exact as Peter mentioned above. They are in the exact same exposure but the idea of Clog 2 is flatter than Clog 3 - so you can pull more in post. But that is why Clog 3 look brighter (and better without lut). Clog 2 is really for colorist know what they are doing. It is not easy to handle. We use Clog 2 as we know how to color grade. But in practice Clog 3 is a lot more easy to shoot and post. Yes highlight will suffer that is the trade off.

@hughhou2 ай бұрын
R5C more for professional that need long hours capture but not too much travel, run and gun it. For R5 II is more for hybrid creators that need photo and video capture, gimbal or run and gun a lot. There is still a pretty price difference as R5 II is more expensive and R5 C is on sale with great deal. They are BOTH great for Vision Pro and has the exact same resolution - 8192 x 4096 in 60fps. Currently is the highest until Blackmagic launch their 16K camera (which also wont be cheap and for very very high end professional). So buy the one you can afford. Also, R5C has a lot bigger ecosystem for support and ton of tutorial on my channel. R5 II will get there but it is so new it will take us a bit to catch up on tutorials and build guide.

Good to finally see some news I can trust since your very technical like me. Been seeing so many rumors that the dynamic range and low light performance is worse on this than the R5. They are talking about photos, but I'd have to assume that if it can be better in video it can also be better in photo. As far as overheating. Gotta do that one one more time with the fan grip. Since the R5C has a fan that's the only way to compare them head to head IMO.

Yes I don't have the fan grip so I will when I get all my toys in check. Personally I won't use it as it mess up my gimbal setup. If I need long hours - I just use my R5C. There is NO easy ND option for fisheye lens and sensor ND is pain in the butt.
