This is so similar to mine I have the same off set roof top tent and roof rack/roof tent issue

Dude, this video deserves WAAAY more than 32 likes and 553 views. Your GX is what I want mine to be when it grows up. So many good ideas. Mind if I ask what your final height clearance is? I have a roof rack (that I use) and got some legit rock rails. I'm torn about whether or not to get a lift for two reasons. One, I need to be able to park in my garage and two, I only have about 4" of clearance left at factory suspension. A few of the more popular GX channels say don't do a lift, but I want a bumper for my winch (I bought another Apex 12k, had one on a Jeep and loved it) and without a lift I'm worried that the OEM suspension will lose too much clearance, plus I need to delete the factory spoiler chin anyway. It's awful. Anyway, awesome work. Liked, subbed and saved.

Appreciate you! Ill have to measure the height; I just made some adjustments to the suspension so the height changed. With that said last year on my trip to wheel in the Ozarks, I took my wife to Nashville on the way home. We were able to pull into a parking garage with the RTT on top. I was not confident but she guided me in and we actually had plenty of clearance! I was surprised to say the least. I will tell you I can not fit in our garage at home. Not even remotely close! I'd be happy to chat more about the GX, lifts, etc. Shoot me a message on Instagram and we can connect on there!

I would be interested on what exactly you had to do to the ARB front bumper to get it to fit from the Prada 150 to your GX. I had an ARB bumper on a 2nd gen 4Runner and loved it! Kind of curious to hear the sound from the snorkel since you mentioned it. Nice build!!

I actually had Main Line Overland install it for me. Really it’s a lot of cutting of the factory bumper cover but otherwise it’s a “bolt on” install. They have done quite a few of them so I believe they have a template or at least cut line measurements. I know you can do a full Prado conversion on the GX460 which is also bolt on minus some potential wiring for the headlights depending on your year. If that paints a picture at all; the GX460 and Prado are darn near the same minus the body work and engine/transmission.

Hey there, nice build. How is the Garmin Tread system mounted? Is that a track system on the dash. Thanks
@triplelockedadventures4 ай бұрын
You are correct…it’s a RAM Mounts track. I have it double sided tape to the dash. It works but the weight of the Garmin is too much. I did this about 4 years ago when there wasn’t any aftermarket options. There are now a few vendors offering both no drill and drill solutions. I ordered some new products coming that I’ll post up a future video on!

I'm now subscribed from AZ so good luck with your channel. The Tread XL can definitely create some blind spots. I'll be watching for new content bc there's lots of things on your build that you can do a deep dive. Take care.

Nice build! You have a lot of the same mods I have installed on my 2015 GX. Looking forward to see what you do next. I'd love more info on the battery system you rigged up. I also have the Dobinson drawer system and a large fridge. I have no idea how you've managed to fit 205 aH behind the fridge. Also - did you do anything to anchor the drawer system? I installed a Victory 4x4 deck and it's currently just sitting on top unanchored.
@triplelockedadventures4 ай бұрын
I will absolutely do a video on the battery system! It’s for sure a 1 of 1 setup as I made it myself. As you know there’s almost zero room between the back seats and the Dobinsons drawers. Zero of the options out there would fit, so I said let’s just do it ourselves haha. Speaking of which to answer your mounting question: my drawers mounted straight to the points where the third row seats mounted. I believe I had to drill two small holes but it’s been awhile since I installed them. It was all in the instructions with the drawer setup. Only thing I did in addition to the instructions is I put down a lot of sound deadener while I had it all apart. For your setup with the deck you will need to either drill through the deck plate and line up the mounting points or if you’re looking for a modular setup: fabricate some L brackets maybe on the sides and back?

Awesome Build, Congrats. How was the rust on the undercarriage being from Illinois? I found one with 100% Lexus servicing, timing chain done, 1 owner. The skid plate was completely rusted (which is understandable), but it had a lot of surface rust underneath. Makes me nervous having driven on salted roads for 10 years. Uggh, you find the unicorn but there is always something.
@triplelockedadventures2 ай бұрын
This one had some slight surface rust in certain spots. I coated all of it in Fluid Film before my first winter with it. I’ve reapplied every year at least once before winter as well…or after any significant wheeling trip. I highly recommend using Fluid Film on any vehicle in the salt belt. The new black version is even nicer because it gives the frame a nice black finish instead of the yellowish finish of non colored product. It is indeed hard to find the unicorns out there. I looked for over a year then flew one way to buy it. I got super lucky. Paid a great price; cheaper than they are now that’s for sure. Superb service records and condition. Fully optioned with radar cruise, auto high beams, and the off road package that has crawl control and hill descent modes. Only option it didn’t have was the rear infotainment screens which I didn’t want anyway. I got super lucky; but they are out there!

What sliders are those?
@triplelockedadventuresАй бұрын
They are the Expedition One sliders. Hands down my favorite sliders on the market. Rock solid construction. Great powder coat! Flat plated bottom with a slight angle so they slide over rocks and don’t get hung up. Nice integrated aluminum tread plate/step that’s very useable. They also included LEDs that replace the factory courtesy lights; which work just like factory. Approach the vehicle/open the door. The lights come on and illuminate the ground under the sliders. Only Con: weight. They are an absolute unit of a slider.
