My design is based on the model from Simlab. I used the profiles from their 100/200 design but with the 100mm VESA mounts and different pivots. Did it finally work out for you?

Im surprised you used 40x40 for the feet - it looks rather insufficient to me. With hindsight, do you feel 40x80 would be better for the feet?
@simracingmontreal1038
@simracingmontreal1038 3 жыл бұрын
Not really. It's pretty solid. The monitors are not that heavy. It's based on a Simlab design that uses the same size for larger monitors.

Do you have to use the locking screw on the vesa mount, or will it work without it?

Thank you for the guide! Really helpful! But for mine, I think I'd add caster wheelss on the feet. Do you think it will still be as stable as the one without caster wheels?
@simracingmontreal1038
@simracingmontreal1038 2 жыл бұрын
I had in fact purchased casters but it is so light that it slides very easily on my wood floor so i didn't use them. Maybe on carpet ot would be easier to slide with the casters.

@@simracingmontreal1038 I see. I guess I'll have to look for casters that have locks on it. Thanks for the reply!

With 24” monitors I suppose the feet have to be brought closer together? How stable is it? Do you think it’ll be stable on carpet? Thanks
@simracingmontreal1038
@simracingmontreal1038 3 жыл бұрын
For smaller monitors you just need to adjust the placement of the swivels for the side bars. You don't need to adjust the feet but you can if you want.

Thank you for this guide. How has the setup been now that you've had it for a few months? Anything you would change? Do you think the Lite aluminum extrusion is strong enough? Thanks.
@simracingmontreal1038
@simracingmontreal1038 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's very solid. Only if you use larger monitors I would go with the larger corner pivot brackets. You can also add some casters if you want to put this on carpet so you can roll it easier. On wood floors it is quite light so it is easy to move.

How even did the monitors end up lining up? I've got 3 27" montiors I use and while I currently own an Obutto R3v with a tripple monitor stand, the three monitors barely line up across the top and getting them even close was a ton of work.
@simracingmontreal1038
@simracingmontreal1038 3 жыл бұрын
I think the trick is to place the left and right monitors with the Vesa mounts on the arms but not completely tight so so you can move them left and right until they align. Then you can remove the monitors and tighten the mounts on the side arms.
@able724

@@simracingmontreal1038 Sorry, I should have been a little clearer I guess. I mean they align vertically, across the top and bottom, not side to side.

are you sure the vesa screw size is 5/32? doesnt look like that much smaller on camera. Also how do you secure the pivot joint once its mounted so it doesnt move anymore?
@simracingmontreal1038
@simracingmontreal1038 4 жыл бұрын
The pivot is screwed to the profile using 2 T-nuts. It holds it well but I would say 27' monitors are the max. The pivot arms are held by a screw and nylon washer which permits them to pivot. The arms are able to move so you can open and close the monitor position to move in an out of your rig. They are not flimsy though. They stay in place when positioned where you want them, See the pics in this link Hope this helps. www.dropbox.com/sh/anbgw4k5ho62glv/AAD2xjv5qo9EiuOhqBLi2dH9a?dl=0
