Im here after building the $200 one. I just wanted to thank this dude for this simple click and done link. Def recommend. Very sturdy. Will want some caster wheel or some mounts for height. I jerry rigged my old gaming chair to it and that baby doesn't move. Using 200KG sim jack pedals and alpha mini. I did make a wooden baseplate. Drilled 4 hole for the M8 screws and done a whole complete rig for $235. I would suggest end caps or maybe those pool foam things to put on the edges to save your knees and toes. Now to work on the triple monitor stand.

Thank you for this! I bought this one for a secondary setup for my old fanatec csl elite wheel and pedals along with a real car seat. What can I say, lightweight, super solid and rigid with infinite adjustability! 💯💪🏼👍🏻
@DouglasThompson8 ай бұрын
Yes indeed, if ever you want to add something or aren't satisfied with something you are always a couple brackets or price of extrusion away from turning it into the perfect setup.
@TM-zk3os8 ай бұрын
Exactly! I got two 3 hole L-brackets to have a little more length to support the wheelbase, only two bolts to fasten the wheelbase to the L-brackets which is mounted to the backside of the cross arm. BTW, thank you for the 1-click Tnutz cart! Easy to just purchase or edit the cart contents to your needs! 😁🤙🏼

I made it exactly as in the video. I would suggest you go for the $200 rig because that is not stable enough, you need thicker pillars. with 200E it works perfectly! The problem is not so much with the steering wheel, as with the shifter
@DouglasThompson5 ай бұрын
This is intended for the c5 and csl dd max, what did you use on it? Also this is as barebones as I could design it for the people that requested a cheaper version than my 200.00 version. Thank you for sharing though! :)

@@DouglasThompson looking at prices of components, i dont hink its possible to push the price that much lower... I am not in the US so i dont know prices of construction lumber and services provided by home improvement centers (lowes, home depot, harbor freight...) but where i live you can have them cut the wood to size. What i am saying is building a rig out of 2x4"s would be possibly the cheapest option
@dubi12710 ай бұрын
@@DouglasThompson ok, i have checked some sources online, cant access official sites form my country, and it seems that you can get Lowes and Home Depot to cut the wood for you, it should even be a free service, so you can get all the materials for a simrig for about 20-25usd, downside is, it will not be easily adjustable...

This is an excellent idea! How does the $150 rig compare to the $200 rig in terms of sturdiness? Thank you for this awesome creation!
@DouglasThompson6 ай бұрын
Yes indeed, the 200 dollar rig has slightly better hardware and beefier wheel uprights/junction. Otherwise they are both exactly the same.

Awesome! Can you do an overview video showing your entire rig setup ready to race?

I have one for a slightly different version of this rig but I only bought this rig for the build tutorial and it is currently disassembled and I have decided to repurpose the extrusion for a monitor stand. If you would like to see the video of a very similar rig I designed for 200 dollars check this video.kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHKZZKZ6qtqpf6ssi=P80IVlb9qJ_IdysK

And also for the 150$ it say there are only 4 screws, is that correct?

The extra 50 makes for a much more solid feeling wheel mounting. And the cart is correct it will come with all necessary hardware.

Wow, did you want it to wobble? This inverted T shape that the whole world thinks is good enough is piss poor. Even large companies seem to think that massive base beams and uprights bolted together at 90 degrees is a good idea….. it is not. Use your brains people!

What do you plan on using it for? Holding up a house? It's for a 5-15lb wheelbase @ 5-8nm max. It will due just fine.
@benhodkinson64675 ай бұрын
Any wobble, front to back or more importantly side to side will lessen the feed back you receive from the wheel. Add in a belt driven wheel and you have the perfect recipe for disappointment.

@@benhodkinson6467 they sell the single side wheel stands that wobble more than this will for just as much money. This clearly is not for an expensive setup for someone with deep pockets. This is for someone who is getting into the hobby and wants to build a fairly inexpensive rig that could get them through a year or two.
