DIY Triple Monitor Mount: Made from steel. Mounting my triple 27" 144hz MSI Optix Mag271C screens

Today we made a triple monitor mount from scratch using mild steel 25x25mm box section and 3mm mild steel plate. I painted the mount using Rustoleum truck bed liner from an aerosol can, this paint is great and gives a very durable finish.
Smoking Steel Garage is a channel dedicated to DIY fabrication, Sim racing, and general motoring shenanigans. I'm no expert in any of the above, But with a "can do" attitude I can usually get it done! My aim is to motivate you to have a go.

Thanks buddy. Be better once the hardware store opens up so. I can get some black bolts and some green paint for the webs. They are a little hidden at the moment. 👍 Not sure I would make them again. Took way to long. But fun none the less 😂

Great video really enjoyed it. I was genuinely gutted when you spotted the bracket error and had to re do a morning’s work 🤦‍♂️ The whole project was something I would of liked to take inspiration for to build something similar but after factoring in the cost of a Porsche Cup Car wheel it’s cheaper to buy a ready made version 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 off to watch some more of your handy work mate. 👍

Hi Jason. Great to hear and yes....... gutted! It happens though. just this time it took me a long time to even click what I had done wrong. Live and learn! As for the Cup wheel..... You don't need one, it literally was there and was the right profile..... I could have done it by hand but that is no fun! Keep following as the wheel is making another appearance soon for a new project....... No I haven't bought the rest of the car lol

1:45 what size RHS did you use for the main part of the frame? I’m an apprentice welder and I’m gonna have a crack at making myself a monitor stand during my lunch breaks and after work. As I’m an apprentice I can’t afford to drop $500AUD on a triple monitor stand haha cheers

Hi. It was 25x25x2mm. But tbh would go a bit heavier as it does flex ever so slightly. I’m going larger for version 2. Thinking 50x25 should do the trick.
