I have Mr. Dustin's kit in both .36 and .44 and it works great! Making paper cartridges has turned into a nice hobby for me. I have a question about the lube. I melt the lube and dip my cartridges. When I load them into the pistol I notice that the lube on top of the lead ball comes off on the end of the loading lever. Does this still leave enough lube on the cartridges? Thanks!

777 is pretty strong. It's like black powder +P. I put that in one of those screw on barrel derringers and it bucks much harder. It almost feels like there is a modern 9mm round in there.

I load triple 7 in brass 45 colt. Its a bit weak but the smoke is fun!

Dustin, I absolutely love your videos! They are informative, to the point, and most importantly, entertaining! When I got my first BP revolver, YOU were the first one I visited to make sure I knew what the heck I was doing! Thank you so much for your insight and valuable insight on EVERYTHING black powder! Thanks again, man! I would love to see you do a video on the NAA BP revolvers. I have the Earl, the .22 “LR” and the .22 “magnum”…along with some .36 and .44 Pietta revolvers. I would love to see you do a video on the NAA BP revolvers, as I have a very hard time finding GOOD content on those little guys. I absolutely love them, as they are the smallest BP revolvers I know of…and personally think they are super cool!

Sunday afternoon I was enjoying trying out your .36 kit with what’s left of my Goex 3F. Loaded 6. Takes some getting used to seating the bullet in avoiding catching a part of the cartridge edge with the glue on the heel of the bullet and folding in on itself a little (but it still holds and does not leak or appear to make a difference.). Once you get the hang of it, takes about two minutes or less to load one cartridge. Will probably have to use my supply of triple 7 soon

According to the manufacturer, T7 is 15/100 more powerful than PN, so it is enough to reduce PN loads by 15/100. In the paper cartridges I make with your tools, I put 1.2CC of T7 (36 cal) and it works very well as you could see. Glad to see you’re testing our recipes.👍

I have run many "Magnum loads" out of my new model army (probably wouldn't recommend a open top but hey, free country) 40 grains of triple 7 and still have all my digits! If you're using either size paper cartridge that Dustin offers you should be A OK

Adding a little triple 7 in ur cap sure makes for a nice hunt way better than a arrow and if it’s 44 best believe it’ll take down a bear with the right placed shot

I really appreciate how quick you reply. I got a question I am a felon. I can carry a black powder revolver for protection. For me and my family want to know. What is the best overall small, concealed carry? That's very dependable to shoot when needed. Not worried about price as much as dependability I wan't one that caps don't jam easy that is sleek in design????

I have both .36 and .44 Pietta revolvers, and I cannot get a conical bullet down into the chamber. Did you have to do something special to the one used here?

The earliest ones were .22 rimfire cartridges-- essentially taking a long-walled percussion cap and adding gunpowder and a bullet to the top. Smith & Wesson got into the business with these after the failure of the Volcanic guns, followed closely by Benjamin Henry/New Haven Firearms/Oliver Winchester with the lever action rifles. So the earliest cartridge guns were either lever rifles or .22 caliber handguns.

The only problem I encountered with these cartridges, and the T7, was when I compressed my cartridge a little too much and the shot could only leave after disassembling the chimney and scraping a little "ass" of the cartridge. At the stand it is not very serious, but it happened to me on a CAS contest, it is more annoying, even if I no longer pretend to the podiums...😉

If I had my druthers I’d keep a full keg of the real McCoy in my nonexistent basement. Failing that, anything that makes the gun work without blowing up seems fine to me!

I don’t recommend this type of paper cartridge for a muzzle loading rifle because there can be reliability issues with the ignition. There are other types that tear open and are poured down the barrel.

I watch you. Now I have made paper cartridges like the way you do. The problem is the paper doesn’t burn out and clogs up the cylinder. What is your way of stopping that.

That happens to me too, but with the paper I use in the kit, it doesn’t stop the gun from working and it comes out easily when I clean the gun.
