Big fan of the show. I appreciate all the research you two do. Very kind of Abby to describe Sally's voice as unique. I'm still scratching my head why "acting like John Wilkes Booth" was ever written anyway. Do audiences know anything about him except as an assassin and fugitive? oh, could they have meant "acting" as in the Booth brothers who were actors? That's even more esoteric.

That’s such a good question and one that could probably only be answered by the writer, VanDyke if his memory serves him or maybe Rob Reiner (if he ever overheard his father talk about it). Booth was apparently a terrible actor who was often booed and hissed (which begs the question, “Why was such a terrible actor cast in a show worthy of an audience with the POTUS?!”). But I don’t know that people in the 1960s knew that about Wilkes at the time. I loved this episode of the podcast and that bit of JFK related trivia. I also loved the bit about the DVD Show theme song being part of the Alan Brady Show. As Abby says, so meta! Love the podcast!

Loved this so much! A great Christmas treat. Loved hearing all the stuff that was cut from the earlier script! Also, if some of the studio recorded orginal songs from the show are out there somewhere, it would be so great to have a soundtrack of them available-just a thought.😊
