Eddie Firestone as a lab technician! This guy was often on the 1950s episodes of."Dragnet". He was always a down and outer in everything I ever saw him in, he was usually a drunk disheveled loser. In this show he cleaned very nicely, shaven, hair combed, suit, bowtie, and big round glasses. He played a girl shy, nerdy lab technician, and set up a movie date with Sally Rogers. Nice work Eddie! I read that he joined the Marines in 1943, and left the service in 1957 with the rank of captain! So, in real life he was a winner!

One of my favorite bits of TV trivia is that Sally is based on radio & TV writer Selma Diamond who played Selma the bailiff on 'Night Court'. Like so many comic geniuses she worked on * 'Your Show of Shows' and Carl Reiner said he had her in mind when he created the character Sally Rogers. *(Writers for the series included Mel Brooks, Neil Simon, Danny Simon, Mel Tolkin, Lucille Kallen, Selma Diamond, Joseph Stein, Michael Stewart, Tony Webster (the only Gentile among the show's writers), and Carl Reiner who, though a cast member, also worked with the writers.)

The director, Robert de Grasse, started working in photography during the silent film era in 1921... Robert De Grasse (February 9, 1900 - January 28, 1971) was an American cinematographer and member of the American Society of Cinematographers. Over the course of his career, he was nominated for an Academy Award in 1939 and a Primetime Emmy Award in 1958.

You're at least the 600th person who's pointed that out. This is probably the 20th time the comment section has changed up, and every time, at least 100 viewers write that very same thing, word for word. And his name was KLINGER, not Kilnger.

I can't express how much I love this show, it evokes so many great memories! - At 2:41, When Laura says: "Say, my cousin Thomas" was that dubbed in? It sure didn't sound the same as the first part of that sentence. (EDIT: Yes, it was dubbed; I read her lips, and she is actually saying: "my cousin Thomas." - I guess the director wanted the word 'say' in there too)

If you put the playback speed to 0.5, you’ll realize that she indeed said the word “Say”. So that part was not dubbed in.

I love how positive these shows are ! I followed Carl Reiner on his Twitter until he passed. (I tried to follow his son rob, because I liked "stand by me" so much, but I didn't know Rob was so...political. Wasn't the positivity I see here! ..Carl Reiner surely is missed)

Richie is cute, but all he does is sleep and bathe. Sally is rough around the edges, too, which might turn guys off. Plus she acts too desperate to marry, like she can't spend an hour alone.Not everyone meets someone special before age 25...some people meet their true love at age 50 or 60.

Excuse my ignorance, but was it normal to kiss your children on the mouth at this time? 1:40
@mf-qi8gn Жыл бұрын
It depended on the family. But I knew several families that kissed each other on the lips.... it was quite normal behavior in the 60's/70's. I'm not sure when it became less common.

I'm not sure why people have to make such a big deal about it - it's still done today and celebs get called out for it when they do it with their kids. Most famously and recently, David Beckham and fam.

Romans 10.9-10 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords, and everyone will bow on their knees and say it on the last day, no matter what. Jesus loves you so so much and wants to save you from this world and eternal suffering in hell. He will bring peace and joy that is unexplainable and beautiful. Pray to Him and surrender to Him, ask Him to change you and give you faith and trust and He will, God never turns away a true prayer. Romans 10.9 Romans 8.38-39 I love you, Jesus our God loves you more. ❤ ❤ ❤
