Training on the style image done in 13 hours and 30 minutes. Well, that took some time.
But then 3300 frames were styled in around 1 hour. That is really fast :-)
Fast style transfer script trains a feedforward neural networks that later apply the trained style to images. After training, feedforward networks can stylize images hundreds of times faster than the optimization-based method presented by Gatys et al. Quality is not perfect and might be better with the slow optimization-based method. But I am quite satisfied with my first style transfer animation.
Used an own blending script to reduce flickering of the style transfer output and mix it with the original unstyled video.

The result of the fast style transfer are not so good. Slower style transfer scripts produce better outputs but rendering time is too high. But time will come where we can apply these trippy styles in realtime.

@@schizo604 Yeah I've seen how long it takes modern PC CPU's to do this on an order of minutes per frame or image or at least thirty seconds for some high end chips. I'm sure they will be developing specialty chips for certain tasks pretty soon that will do that crunching in the order of seconds. Only problem will be the time consumed training these chips for each new task. Also I'm betting on neuromorphic style chips in place of standard GPU and CPU based calculation.
