Your videos are really inspiring for me. I live here in LA (lower Alabama), I moved here 10 yrs ago from WI and because of illness and injuries I haven't been able to enjoy the outdoors the way I've wanted to, but I'm working on that and getting fit again so I can enjoy the coast and get back to snorkeling and doing all the fun beach stuff. I get inspired by people who stay fit and like a little adventure.

Hey Trip!! Thanks for the video! I recently took a SUP camping trip to this area. I originally wanted to put in at Sherman’s Cove (military property and I’m not) and paddle out to Ft Mcree. I ended up putting in at Perdido bridge and paddling out to the backside of Johnsons beach to camp. You are correct on lack of hammock trees!!! I’m wondering if you know a good place to put in a SUP that isn’t on military property (and I can park my vehicle) closer to Ft Mcree.

Hi there. My dad introduced me to your videos the other day and I had a thought that when you are sleeping on your boat that you might be able to have a hinged board coming off of your storage compartment lid (the one that you sleep on) that would open towards the front of the boat and rested on your cooler, or the front of the boat (not sure of the dimensions) to give you a better, more stable platform for sleeping on. You know, just a piece of plywood or something durable that you could paint white or whatever.... It would make your lid slightly heavier, but might be worth a good nights sleep. I like the new mattress that blows up with the bag.... great solution to blowing up small things. I enjoyed watching. Good for you on your adventuring, and stay safe out there! :)_

Trip, love the vid. I live in the Mid Atlantic states where the water is colder and more green colored. When you talk about clarity, do you mean visibility horizontally under water? I thought the water in Destin was very clear when I was there, but in certain places like the Alabama coast the water was more brown can cloudy. Is that typical of the AL coast? Why is Destin so much more clear and blue than Orange Beach?

Hey Trip, recently found your channel and subscribed. I am enjoying the energy and spirit of adventure you bring to each video. As I’m catching up with your videos I’ve seen several things you use I’d like to get. ie the hat and pillow from this video. Looked for a gear list but not finding one. ??

What kind of prop were you running on that motor? I've got the same motor on my jon boat. Looking to gain some speed with a stainless prop.

What are the dimensions of that skiff? Length, width and depth. I plan to make something similar for myself or maybe longer, up to 6m. Like it.

I’m very familiar with the Destin Pcola area. Watching your vids I like to try and find where you launch, your route and where you camp on google earth. If you could flash a map pin in the beginning of the vid it would help. Please consider this. Thanks.

How do you not run aground more? It takes me many tide cycles to learn an area or follow other boats to learn the channel. I explore the NC/SC coast. I also study google earth extensively before going to a new area.
@TripSmith
@TripSmith 3 жыл бұрын
I donno.... I study google earth most every day as well. I've spent a lot of time on the water so maybe that has something to do with it. Or maybe I'm just lucky? BUt the water down here is pretty clear so most shallows you can see.
@Czech_Mate704
@Czech_Mate704 3 жыл бұрын
@@TripSmith the water isn’t that clear around the NC/SC coast with a few exceptions. Keep up the great videos!
