I don't get the complains. If you think this is hero shooter design then KF1 and KF2 was too because you had classes. The only difference is that instead of classes it's now a character that's a class. No difference in gameplay, so I couldn't care less. I just want intense gameplay and awesome gore and looks like KF will deliver that again

Killing floor 2 was one of the few games that got lots of gameplay difficulty aspect right. The biggest thing is that enemies dont just get more health on increasing difficulties. They become capable of sprinting and unlock new attacks. This fundamentally changes how priority and horde management works, as well as making certain playstyles or weapons better or worse against certain enemies. I hope they retain this because this was imo the only meaningful way to increase difficulty without feeling like its just a number crunching game.

I agree too. Although I do wish the enemies in KF2 didn't really get a health bonus to such a degree. Because really it just makes certain weapons just simply too weak to be viable on Hell on Earth difficulty tbh. Especially with 6 players it such takes the fun out of the game for having such tanking enemies when the speed increases and new moves they get are mostly enough.

@@CmoIsDaNam3i out of all problems kf2 had, i think enemies being spongy is the least of it all. Enemy resistance plays a huge role. For example, fleshpounds are resistant to pierce damage (like from the rpg direct hit) but they also take increased explosive damage. This means that using a rpg or a grenade launcher is always the better choice than using, for instance, a crossbow. For scrakes, iirc the reverse is true. Also, higher tier weapons are almost invariably superior to the lower tier ones. I dont know much about the game after the upgrade system was introduced, but i suspect this would only make low tier weapons more usable during late game

I'm not saying higher difficulties shouldn't have higher health pools or when you add more players the health of Zeds shouldn't increase but honestly even normal 6 player endless it often took like 2 or 3 mags to kill *ONE* Fleshpound regardless of resistance. Sure explosives would be much better overall. But even a normal resistance like EMP or freeze would still be the same. Its just the degree to which it gets increased that felt much. For me the roughly perfect balance was when there was 3 to 4 players. After that especially on HoE it became a nightmare. I just hope there is an option to set a max player count if they do it again, or just normalize the difference between solo and 6 players more. Besides, the increased speed and amount of damage Zeds deal should for the most part be enough, especially paired with the new moves like the Husk using a flamethrower and such.

Was excited for Killing Floor 3. “Was”But knowing classes will be locked to specific characters has completely nuked my excitement. I like basically every other thing you guys have shown/announced but I hate this idea and trend in general. Let me play who I want with what I want. Gears of war 5 horde did this, their community hated it so much it was reverted post release. Please don’t make the same mistake of not listening then having to waste more time and money implementing a fix/change and just let us play whatever character with whatever class like the previous games. 100 % this. Feels like they changed one of the things killing floor is liked for, no specific characters for certain perks/abilities. Every character being able to do anything. It's a bummer for me too. I also don't like the idea of introducing the weapons customisation. Maybe (probably) it's gonna be basic like a scope or compressor but I hope it doesn't turn it into 'which of these 37 attachments do I need to pick to have a good gun, like call of duty... I also don't like the changed movement.. looks like sprint dodging is going to be a thing? I saw some strange looking alpha footage... I just feel like getting old man, used to play KF1 with my brother and friends over LAN, sitting with 4 people on the same table :)

Its a hard say, I have to actually see what they might do with it. It could be a fun system, it could be a dogshit feature that is a plague upon the game. I really liked the KF1 art style, but it seems they're chasing another direction, however the future sci-fi is growing on me. So we'll have to see how they choose to push their game.

they look like guns from starfield or something... its quite ugly and suffers from the typical scifi trope of thinking future guns look wildly different. spoiler... the AK platform will exist 1000 years from now and look almost identical. the M2 Browning will exist and be mounted on space craft 2000 years from now. its never going away.

YESSS I love it, please bring back Zynthethic and don’t lock abilities to characters please, that’s a game changer. As long as you don’t mess up on this I’m all in, I prefer a delayed launch than a rushed one, a rushed one is always a recipe for disaster and failure, I prefer a totally playable, enjoyable and definitely a FINAL product, for which we are going to be the ones paying the full price and most of us looking after this game are true fans since KF1 or KF2. @@Jackfromshack Which for a game that says "weapons are the star of the show" was a really lazy choice. Also, the gameplay variations weren't even that unique. The HRGs, with a few exceptions, added just cross-class weapons like the M16 with the grenade launcher. Especially compared to paid weapons that were more unique and fun with gameplay/what they could do and had unique looks and animations.

The new movement stuff looks really fun, just hope those ziplines have some kind of internal cooldown, the guns never fail to feel great in KF games. Can't wait to see something about the berserker/melee and the siren and stalker since we haven't seen anything on those yet. I really hope the HUD from a few trailers ago is improved upon for release as it was not looking great.

Back then they did specificially say they made it in UE3 in part so that people with older PCs can play the game. Games like Payday The heist, Killing floor 1 etc. had non-USA based playerbases that had mediocre or bad PCs because thats all they could afford. Heck in STALKER reddit someone asked a year ago and at least 60% of the reddit users said that their PC straight up couldn't handle STALKER 2. its mostly due to electronic hardware being extremely expensive/highly taxed in certain places in the world and current shitier global economics compared to early 2000-2010s

KF3 takes place in year 2091 and we are playing as mercs, mercs cost money, can bring their own gear, theres no use using guns designed over 100 years ago in that situation right.. in KF1 its 2009 so that make sense we get some AK guns, AR guns, that sort plus Horzine tech on which the game gave a lot weight over the time in KF2 which takes place almost right after KF1, it only makes sense we would be using almost only Horzine tech in KF3.

@@d3finit I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure the traditional art of infantry weapons production is in keeping it simple, lightweight and affordable. Sure, Horzine could have way better manufacturing processes, but even then I don't see why someone would bring a goddamn Minecraft block to tight room-to-room combat, especially since we've been blessed with the sci-fi GOAT, the P90.

I’m really pumped to see this game come out and play it. I understand everyone is on edge about some of the new “ultimate ability” changes, but I just don’t want them to be locked to the characters. The classes should be separate from the characters. Please tripwire, we’re willing to try new things, but please let us choose to play as our favourite characters regardless of class just like KF2. If we end up “hating” a class or ability, it will affect how we feel about the characters.

On one hand, don't want a hero shooter, but if Zed tech's going to be specialized toward a certain weapon, I could see that working so long as every character can use it and/or keep it to a loadout so we can customize another one yet keeping the successful weapon to flesh that loadout out and have a working version in case the next mod falls through. If we can mod a shotgun to have a buckshot/dragon's breath function for the fun factor would be great too. That extra bit of, "If this won't kill you, THIS is definitely gonna suck for you" in a survivor shooter like this would be grand

The new gameplay and look of the zeds has done a fantastic job of sowing a sense of dread and unease in me. Dread and unease in the future of the Killing Floor series. When I heard that the game was returning to it's horror roots I got super excited to see it pivot to being more akin to the original KF. Nothing says survival horror like a hero shooter with movement mechanics. (Edit) As a side note. Am I the only one who is sick and tired of the Call of Duty Black Ops 3 approach to weapon design? They look bad, why do so many game studios have to ruin a good thing? Don't reinvent the wheel. Use real weapons and make sure to give classes more of them.

Two big things that made me drop KF2 (nearly 400 hours) was: 1) my mouse would just not consistently fire. Only in KF2, not KF2, TF2, or any other game/program. 2) game became not possible to win in solo. Back when the Abomination (King Bloat) released, I could solo a number of Suicidal/HOE maps. Had to break away for a while and came back with the Matriarch... Since then, I cannot complete a map solo on normal because I die to the boss, even Hans. So having things scale well for solo play is very big for me.

Fan of a KF1. Some things I would love to see in KF3 (too late I know but would have been cool): - "bigger" enemies having interesting weak points that are the core way of taking them down instead of just dumping 20 magazines into em. - Different classes clearly being more powerful towards certain enemy types (more variation and reasons to play less fun/interesting classes). - make and customize your own character instead of ready made. We don't want another hero shooter. And cosmetics would make interesting reward for gameplay when the character is you and not some gringy fellow that half the team plays because of (add reason here). - "sprint thru" skill for every class with long cd or other weakness. Lets you burst thru smaller enemies when being surrounded and stuck in lovely forever lasting reload animation. - continue reload animation dynamically after interruption like using ladder or vaulting instead of starting the animation from the start. The game is fun as long as you have bullets/able to control the situation and unfun when you are reloading or stuck in a corner and worst of all the combination of those 2. - mod support and map maker. And lastly, everyone gonna hate me but this should be done for every game: VR mode or allowing modders make VR mode. And let people play in VR servers or in official servers while using VR. Prolly best would be let players handle the VR side and support modders so people can't whine that "graphics are worse because VR". Instead let people with good enough computers to enjoy the game in VR and keep it as a side thing that is in players hands so team won't have to listen the whining. Basically what I am saying allow, support and embrace modding of the game and keep official servers as the "core game" while modded servers are the playground for the gamers like in good old days.

Looks sick, improved from the last teaser. There are some things I'm curious and afraid about, like the zipline/climbing, how the enemy pathing will work. Other than that, there are some great additions like weapon mods, deeper skills.

Fingers crossed for some rave maps, similar to Monster Ball from KF2. Also, some more theme parks, or even a Steam World remaster! Don't get me wrong, I love the dark and gritty. But I cannot live without those bold maps with loud colours!

Elysium is a SICK comparison to make the guns look both real and futuristic. Love the setting of that movie so that is a cool ad. Cannot wait for the game, hope they listen to the long term fans a do not do a hero shooter cause they will lose the main fanbase that will support the game for long time. None the less, KEEN

I have to admit, watching this feels a lot like I'm watching a video about CoD: Bo6's Zombies mode. That mode similarly began to push enhanced movement like diving and an enemy that could climb on the walls, plus grappling-hook enemies. The weapon customization, environmental traps, and crawling cysts reminds me of it too (but that's something CoD Zombies has had for a while anyway). Not a problem, I'm not saying anything's copying anything, I'm still looking forward to playing KF3. I just find the growing similarities between two wave-based "zombie" survival games interesting.

A shotgun will always be a shotgun. Unless you change the ammo to slugs. Then you have a 12ga rifle. There are many aspects to change on a shotgun for a variety of applications. Change barrel length, chokes, ammo, stocks, foregrips. Add sights, lasers, flashlights. Shotguns are very versatile.

I see so much negativity on the specialist system, and it bleeds over into a general negativity about all the game features with some kf communities, but honestly everything else looks so promising about this game and I don't feel like the specialist system will really break the fun. Definitely a gear shift, but I'm willing to try it first before I denounce the entire game over this one small feature. If its still fun, and still killing floor... who cares?

They are still insisting in the dumb idea of having "specialists" and locking perks to specific characters. They are making so you need to grind craft components to make mods so they can make the grind ridiculous and then sell you the solution.

Loving the added verticality and zed movement, I think that will really raise the skill ceiling of the game. At the same time, I think that we may see a shift in meta from precision classes to more AOE. Just hoping the game doesn't feel too arcady because of this.

I finally have the feeling these zeds are reaching their full potential. Crawlers can crawl on walls and ceiling, and they can be dismembered! Whenever I saw a new horror game like aliens colonial marines or KF2: I was thinking : when is it all going to keep up with what dead space could do back in 2008. And I’m hyped for kf3 mainly for that reason. And in versus mode , I hope you’ll be able to be a crawler horde and s well, just look at the plague tale 2 game, where you can control a whole bunch of rats. I like how the zeds are having more grittiness to them, and it’s nice that there is a m character progression that is even more flexible. .
