she dropped everything to go to cali to get famous, and is one of -those- people who do anything for clout. she's like if TMZ was a person. trasha needs to get off youtube and check herself into a facility for a long time. i feel bad for her because she genuinely is messed up, but she uses that to be relevant at all costs, no matter who she hurts. she's a shell of a person, fake, and selfish. she has shown time and time again that she is a basketcase with no regard for ANYONE. she's toxic. yes, she's obviously mentally ill, but she knows what she's doing and it's not an excuse. incredibly fcking pathetic.

Alanna I’m totally against Trisha on every level and I don’t want to be defending her, but it’s actually very hard to get a diagnoses at many places. Not having a diagnosis doesn’t make anyone less valid. Whether she has DID or not is another discussion.

LaughingForNoReason XD i’m not saying anyone who doesn’t have a diagnosis is less valid, that’s not what i’m trying to say at all. but to me, her saying that she doesn’t *NEED* a diagnosis is just her way around saying she knows she won’t get one bc she doesn’t actually have this disorder. (that she also said she doesn’t even consider a disorder, so..)

Also Trisha: "It's so disgusting to be like 'Get diagnosed first.' [...] I don't need to go into detail with what I talk about with doctors" -- after making a video claiming to have an incredibly serious mental disorder that requires a good bit of theraputic work to cope with it successfully. Honestly, her irrational, barely-coherent lashing-out at the slightest hint of criticism. especially since she's even trying to play the martyr, comes across like basic narcissism. Instead of entering into an honest conversation with people like Nin (DissociaDID), who respectfully took issue with her facts (and not her as a person), she's trying to keep the focus completely on herself. Which, ironically, only makes her look that much worse.

Adopting someone else’s behaviour when you’re around them is NOT DID, it’s actually called mimicry/mirroring/the chameleon effect. We do it subconsciously to maintain relationships/relate to the people we’re interacting with. If Trisha did any research whatsoever, she’d know that.

Sarah Otterson so disrespectful to the most decent and respectful people out there. Such graceful people. Nin did her video with the upmost dignity, and respect towards TP. The very first thing she said was that she would not and could not say whether someone has something or not. TP is so disrespectful and she said she didn’t even watch it. How ignorant. One cannot simply self diagnose themselves with a disorder WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT THAT DISORDER IS. She spent a few minutes in her video blaming her shitty behavior on her alters, while claiming her alters are her fragments of her personality rather than each of them having their own personality. This is clue number 1 and 2. She then talks about how she doesn't switch, then contradicts herself a few minutes later. Clue 3. She doesn't have DID, she has BPD, she's got borderline personality disorder which HAS been OFFICIALLY diagnosed. The key characteristics of BPD are a lack of feeling like you belong, and a lack of sense of self. This means people with BPD are desperate to find a place they belong, thus making them try to latch onto groups of people and try to claim they identify with those groups. She did it with Trans people and is doing it with people with DID. She needs help.

This is basically how everyone's saying they have OCD when doing ridiculous things, and whenever someone says that OCD isn't something fun and quirky like liking satisfying videos, patterns and being clean, you'll get immediately attacked by a lot of people saying it's "just a joke", "it's just a trend" and that "everyone else does it". I mean, yes, please make fun of my disorder that makes me have the worst thoughts you could ever imagine, that makes me feel like nothing is going to be alright again and that gives me such extreme panic DAILY.
@danielleleonard305

Em Å I’ve been mocked a couple times, even by people who’ve said they had OCD too saying that OCD is just an inconvenience. Perhaps if you have mild OCD, I suppose you could describe it as a mild inconvenience. But what people often fail to understand is that your experience is not the same as everyone else’s. From what you’ve briefly described, it seems like you suffer with similar types of “evil” etc thoughts that I had growing up. Obviously I’m not a doctor and there is no cure all and this isn’t always the answer, but I did just want to share a small, way oversimplified piece of advice in case it by some miracle helps you at all.... I stopped trying to out “logic” my OCD. I stopped trying to justify and create reasons why they just simply couldn’t be legitimate thoughts. I stopped trying to differentiate between logical thoughts and obsessive thoughts. Why I kind of did was at first, try to talk over my mind with a simple word if a thought started to bother me. Usually something like “stop”. When a thought bothered me, I would yell “ STOP. STOP. STOP.” As loudly as I could over the thoughts continuously in my head. I would tell myself it doesnt matter if theyre logical thoughts. They bother me, so I will make them stop now. Then... I would allow myself to say hm... sure I could do the awful thing, but thats just too much effort. And somehow, over the years, that complete acceptance has made the awful thoughts lessen. I know this obviously wouldnt work for everyone, and quite obviously ive oversimplified, but I hope maybe my experience can help you just a smidgen. I still struggle a ton, but it doesn’t destroy my life the way it did when I was a kid.

I usually just ride it out, since I know that once it "passes" I will see how illogical those intrusive thoughts were. During those times it's usually constant panic, dread and an anxiety that goes much higher than "normal" anxiety.

I have pure ocd and it used to be much more severe to the point where I would not be able to go 5 minutes without running in a panic to my mother to “confess” the things that I thought I would do. I was in constant distress and literally thought that I would kill myself, someone else, and do many other things that I would never do in real life. It would always frustrate me when people would fix something like a crooked painting and then say like, “haha I’m so ocd!” OCD literally made every moment of my life distressing and combined with other trauma/ possible ptsd was overwhelming for me. I’m happy to say that after 4 years I’m finally almost to the point where I can go a whole week without “confessing” to someone and that my intrusive thoughts are going down a lot.

Discuss the pitfalls of self diagnoses all you want, but not in the context of "she isn't allowed to talk about DiD coz she's not qualitied but I'M going to loudly proclaim to know all about it on the internet and whether or not she has it even though I've never met her". Note: DID is not always something you can get diagnosed. Many places refuse to believe it is real, and there are social and religious stigmas surrounding it. In my country I cannot get on disability if I get diagnosed with it. Self dx is generally valid in our community because there may not be a way to get a diagnosis safely. Whether Trish has it or not is not our issue. The lies she spreads about it are. Please listen to the community.

@@DembaiVT Totally agree, DID is just starting to gain acceptance as older doctors retire and better educated ones take their place. My town has 5 psychiatrists, 4 are morons who make diagnosis based on their opinion after talking to you for 15 minutes, and one is considered an actual doctor. We can't get autism or DID diagnosis unless we can meet the good doc, and even then we have to see specialists 6 hours away. I have autism and my friend has DID, we both started from a place of having to rule out disorders ourselves because no one took us seriously.. we had to be faking. We both have an actual diagnosis now but we had to put in a lot of work to find doctors who would even properly test us.

I don’t have DID but I’ve been subscribed to Dissociadid and Piñata for a over a year now and have become so educated on something I never knew much of and I’ve come to greatly adore and admire those amazing people. How dare she. But I’m glad to see a lot of people not taking her seriously and are offended enough to actually come to Dissociadid’s channel and want to learn the truths. And the disrespect to further insult and lash out. Dissociadid did her video with the greatest amount of respect. And they were dragged into this by having been personally mentioned and insulted. TP never considered how damaging and triggering this could be. Not only to Dissociadid but a whole community who suffers. Nin did her video with the upmost dignity, and respect towards TP. The very first thing she said was that she would not and could not say whether someone has something or not, and that that wasn’t what she was there for. TP is so disrespectful and she said she didn’t even watch it. How ignorant. Nin was so graceful, as always, and she only pointed out scientifically false statements.

It's tiring when you can't afford the expensive treatments/services in the world of psychology or there exists no specialist in your disorder near you and all you have is a self-diagnosis. Then there are doctors who are bad at their jobs and give you a misdiagnosis multiple times. I remember having 3 psychiatrists tell me that I was not depressed but just lazy before having one who finally listened and understood what I was and how to fix it. I would still be depressed if I acted based on what the other 3 told me.

Hi! Psych grad student here! So there’s actually a term for what this is: self-monitoring. This refers to how people respond and interpret social situations. People typically are high self monitors or low self monitors. A high self monitor is someone who tends to change how they act depending on who they are with (adapting a personality to fit social cues). They may express views and traits different from how they truly feel at the core when alone. They are like “social chameleons” , if you will. Low self monitors are the opposite. They will use their inner beliefs and thoughts to guide their actions regardless of who they are with. They may be less in tune with some social cues. Self monitoring is on a spectrum from high to low and it’s simply an aspect of our individual personalities (you can take tests online to see where you lie :) )It is NOT a mental illness-something as simple as being a high self monitor should not be twisted for views. Do not self diagnose to be “quirky” you are the worst!

I am a second year Psychology student and the thing were she says she has DID because she acts differently around different people is literally just functionalism. In Psychology a doctor William James, he was inspired by Charles Darwin, he created the theory of functionalism, which is how people and animals change their behavior depending on their surroundings in order to survive. There's also the sociocultural perspective that is the perspective about how humans act differently depending on the different cultures, people, and groups around them. Trisha these things aren't new we all experience them. Stop trying to throw a pity party for yourself, and open a psychology book instead because this isn't about how Anthony isn't believing your problems this is about you spreading misinformation about a disorder that is very serious many people suffer from it and its because of the worst reasons. DID forms because of childhood trauma you literally fucking called a person, that suffered with so much childhood trauma that the only means to survive that they had was to disassociate themselves, crazy . Stop spreading misinformation take down the video, apologize, because this is so wrong in so many ways.

I don’t understand how people like Shane Dawson, Who is a major advocate for the mental health community, continues to be friends with her when she is constantly using mental illness to her advantage and won’t take it seriously enough to go get diagnosed. Like hun, when I think I have an issue I go get it confirmed so I can then work to fix it (whether it be regarding my health or a plumbing issue). If she has any form of mental disorder go get Therapy and make your life better. I just don’t understand why people who deal with their own mental health and are advocates for mental heath would continue to be friends with her. Holy hell! I did not expect this many likes~ I checked yesterday’s comments and it was at 30 likes and then today I got a notification and saw 1.5K!!! 😭😱 Thank you! Also, thank you all so much for being involved in the Mental Health community. That fact this has started a discussion shows that while we may have different viewpoints on this we all care about mental health! So thanks to everyone for contributing! 👊🏻👊🏼👊🏽👊🏾👊🏿🧠❤️ Also also, I in no way mean to question Shane’s right to pick his own friends as I don’t know him and it’s not my business, however when on a platform where you are looked up to by others and are an advocate for something, I think it’s important to make clear who you support and condone based off of their behavior and actions. In this case, because Shane is an advocate for mental health, to continue a friendship with someone who (I dare say) abuses the community and system for attention/pity consistently is a disservice to the people who look up to him for guidance as he does not /hasn’t condoned this behavior publicly thus showing his audience that this behavior is not ok.

I’m not putting them in the wrong too, this is all Trisha but it’s crazy that she has people in her life ENABLING this and not educating her!

Nope it's people like yourself who never seem to learn and who enable her. This is her thing. This is what she does. She's controversial and she trolls. The only way to make a troll stop is to ignore them. How many times has she done disgusting and outrageous things and yet people still act shocked and horrified every...single...time. Ignore her and move on.

Not knowing the 3 of them personally. But denying a person support because you dont agree with their perception and ideology. She meaning Trish points out she has bipolar and that in being proactive with her own treatment that she notices did traits in herself. So she identifies with it. But yall hate on a woman and invalidate her issues because she acknowledges she trolls living a lifestyle you dont. Stop watching if its wrong then give credance them if you feel that way

did trisha really just say that telling someone to get diagnosed before claiming to have an illness is disgusting?? giiiirl i hate her so much i’m sorry i just can’t stand her anymore. i bet if someone self diagnosed themselves with a physical illness, it wouldn’t be okay to her but apparently self diagnosing yourself with a mental illness is different and more okay?? nope. i hate how she thinks mental illness isn’t that big of a deal and she thinks she can just trick people into believing she has all these mental problems because no one can physically see them. that’s so messed up and gross. that is not how mental health works. you’d think that she would know something about mental health after she’s gone through all these “problems”, but she clearly doesn’t know what she’s talking about. these are the worst kind of people.

Self diagnosis has nothing wrong, ppl may be in a country/region where there's no psychiatrists to diagnose their condition, or other personal reasons that just can't get themselves one at the moment. The real issue is, ppl should be educated and thoroughly understand the subject to be able to do it, and Trisha clearly isn't.

“Trisha Paytas trolling her subscribers YET again” um but like are we really surprised?? Also no one should self diagnose themselves, unless you have gone to a professional about it, you may NOT self diagnose yourself with something that serious. It’s crazy, because in this day and age, there are lots who claim to be depressed yet felt sad for one day or claim to have anxiety after getting nervous about public speaking. It really bug me. Also the fact that she is literally mocking people with her actions is seriously NOT OKAY. (Btw I’m referring to THOSE people who feel sad for one day and claim they have depression or are feeling more awake and claim they have adhd, not the people who thoroughly research these symptoms, plus I have a sibling with autism and another with adhd, both confirmed by professionals and it just bugs me because some people have no idea how it really is)

i actually support self-diagnosis in SOME cases, like if you are unable to see a therapist and if you have researched the absolute ins-and-outs of whatever you believe might have be affecting you, but yeah in this case it is NOT alright.

arren regrets nothing exactly. Self diagnosing depression because you are aware you are severely depressed is much different than such an insanely complicated disorder like DID. Even the youtuber who has it didn’t know for years because your alters are often not consciously aware of eachother and you have memory loss. It’s very hard to diagnose.

arren regrets nothing I feel the same way. I self diagnosed myself with both anxiety and depression, went to a professional who confirmed my diagnosis (I was also diagnosed with OCD a little after this) in cases where it’s something far “simpler” than a complex mental disorder like DID or schizophrenia. I think self diagnosis can be a good step.

7:17 Anthony looks absolutely distraught... That isn't an eyeroll, that is genuine disbelief, disappointment, and fear for stigmatized people in his face. He spent so much time researching and learning respectfully from the community and DID systems, just for Trisha to make something so potentially damaging. That look broke my heart because I know, I've felt something similar, too.
