Honestly, I’ve been watching Tati since I was in my senior year in high school and now I’m graduating college. Sure it means nothing and I’m only seeing her on a screen, but I just feel she would not be the person to fuck up and sneak around just for her own gain. She’s always been okay with “mediocre” success and not having millions of views on every video. She’s never complained about her videos not getting millions of views even though she thinks they’re good. She’s always been okay with not collating with EVERY single KZbinr while everyone was jumping on and making groups and merch off of their cliques. She’s been okay with not being that well known and celebrating her small victories. She does strike me as someone who can be easily swayed and fooled, but because she’s so transparent. She unconditionally loves and gives, and will go above and beyond for people. Here’s my take: 1. Tati was a shitty friend to James for what she did, instead of sharing with him (directly) the rumours that were swirling around about him, she shared it with 55million people. 2. Jeffree really was threatened by James and his rising following and he played a pretty significant part in spreading lies to Tati along with Shane. 3. Tati chose the wrong time to rehash drama from last year, while we’re in the middle of a global pandemic and racial movement. It’s like I understand that you’re life is hard right now but one thing that Trisha said which stuck out was, put things into perspective. There are literally worse things happenings right now and because of you and your privileged problems, the main issues are no longer trending. 4. They’re all horrible human beings who have done shitty things to one another and in general, some more than others. [Edit]: With 3. I think people are missing the point so let me express my reasoning, she chose to break her silence on her own personal problems in the middle of a global pandemic AND racial movement and other world crisis. My point is that there is a time and a place for everything and for me I wish Tati had at least prior to the video or in the video mentioned/advocated/supported the BLM movement and the ongoing crisis in Yemen and other world issues. Sure manipulation can happen at any age, however lets remember that Tati has a great support network around her. She has a loving husband who was fully involved with her friendship and business relationship with James. She's close to her family who had all met James on several occasions. If you are going to make such an explosive video you sit down and discuss it at length with those closest to you, especially if they also have first hand knowledge of the person and topic you will be discussing. Did none of them express concerned that this didn't sound like the James they knew? None of them said it wasn't her place to expose these allegations? None of them said, hey you've only just met this Shane Dawson person why take his word over the years and years you've known James personally? I find that hard to believe. Let's remember that this started because Tati was pissed about some bullshit vitamins. It was petty and childish. She didn't care about James' allegedly predatory behavior but decided to 'expose' it after he pissed her off about vitamins! THAT was the straw that broke the camels back. Not the actual gross behavior she was accusing James of. Did James and Jeffrey stir the pot? Probably. But was Tati happily living her live, loving her best buddy James until they came along and poisoned her opinion of him? No. No at all. Not even a little bit. In her Bye Sisters video she talked about what she had allegedly seen from James with her own eyes. It wasn't...I heard from somebody about these messages and I believe them even though I've never seen that behavior from James personally. Being manipulated and 'getting carried away' are NOT the same thing. Having 2 guys saying, 'yeah Tati fuck James, I've heard shit about him too, take him down girl'...that's not manipulation. That's just people encouraging you along a path you are already on.

The thing is, I think Tati did take accountability. She apologised, she said she shouldn’t have done it, but she also made a pretty great point - it wasn’t her that called him a predator, it wasn’t her that said he was a danger to society, the worst allegations and the things that could have caused the most damage to James were the things Jeffree posted after the fact. I also think people need to remember that when you’re being manipulated by someone you care about it’s not always obvious that you’re doing the wrong thing, because they have you so convinced what you’re doing is right. I think she truly believed she was taking the first step in helping people who she was told were victims of James, and she didn’t know she was being played for a fool. Remember she spent a big chunk at the start of that video apologising to James.

I think there’s a lot more to the story. Tati has been unproblematic prior to this scandal and produced good beauty content for years. She also showed a great deal of support for James. In my eyes, she 100% took accountability, people were screeching for her to respond and she did, she admitted she was wrong to post it and that she’s a grown woman that jumped the gun and just should not have and that it was plain down wrong. But she also brought to light some information about jefree and Shane, which I believe is true from their history. I think jefree blackmails and threatens people, as he’s said countless times and been caught doing in the past years. He has displayed signs of narcissistic and toxic behavior & at times been extremely disturbing. As a psychologist and just analyzing everyone’s behavior, I 100% believe Tati is sincere and Jeffree and Shane have been up to illegal actions behind the scenes, which is why a case is being built. Is she innocent in her actions, absolutely not! I love beauty in general, learning about make-up and skincare is truly a passion for me, so to see this blow up is so annoying, but at the same time it sucks that people still stand by jefree and Shane after clear worrisome behavior has been displayed. Do not attack them, but call a spade a spade.
