For small websites just do all the pre production stuff yourself business set up, design wireframe work, art work, domain, hosting, ssl certs ... These "Developers" overselling you these packages ... Know what make sure it's a clear and concise plan and just farm out what you can't do yourself ❤ For me it's the difference of 8900 to 900 flat rate programmer 😊

How do you feel about designing a website through the Wix builder for a client without using any templates? Is that frowned upon? I have lots of graphic design experience and have gotten very proficient at using the Wix builder using all my own custom content (fonts, images, design elements etc.) Thanks

Such a useful video, thank you. Would you recommend displaying something like this on the website and just being transparent with design and maintenance pricing, also as a funnel to weed out those who want to pay peanuts? By the way, so much better production without the swipes and focal length changes and easier to watch 👍👍👍

I'm about to be starting in this arena, I am hoping you can answer a question that I have that has been nagging me. What do you do about domain names? Do you charge the client a domain name? Make them purchase the domain name? And I'm guessing you probably put their information if you purchase the domain name for them, but want to make sure as well. Thank you.
@tristanparker4 ай бұрын
I always get them to purchase the domain name, and then provide access to the account so we can point it to the hosting correctly. This being, if I died, then my clients would all be without their domain names. So to me it makes sense for each customer to own their own domain name

Thank you for taking the time and putting in the effort to create your videos. If it's okay with you, I would like to ask if the rates you mentioned are only applicable to first-world countries like the USA, Canada, UK, Western Europe, and the like, or if they apply worldwide? I'm asking because I live in the Philippines.

How to deal with the money side of the client when doing a ecommerce site? I was doing it through zoom, giving them instructions to approve the payment gateway, getting their business documents so I can get moving. I can see why we charge them all this money because its a nightmare to setup.

@tristanparker2 жыл бұрын
All developers will charge a different price. Find one that fits within your budget (make sure you’re actually making profit) and they do a good job. Usually we would get contractor prices before we give a price to a client. That way we know exactly how much the project is worth to us.

Quick question: if you only take care of the designs ... then you send them out to your developer, would you consider that project your work and add it to your portfolio?
@tristanparker3 жыл бұрын
I consider it my agencies work. The work comes through my agency, I design, and I outsource to a developer on a white labelled basis, and am clear that it will not be considered their work. Any feature of the project stays on my agencies portfolio
@alexanderjamesreed9353 жыл бұрын
@@tristanparker That seems pretty unfair. However it does depend on if your developer is just using a page builder (not really development) or custom coding it. If its custom coded, they are doing more than half of the work. If you just use page builders then there will be a penalty when it comes to SEO. I would reconsider this.
@hseindesigns Жыл бұрын
@@alexanderjamesreed935 that's the developer's decision to make. Besides, he can charge more for the job if he wants to. Also, let's not forget the developer is not the one getting the clients, or the one handling them.

spoke to a potential client wanted a portal page, a business hiring page with built in resume hiring contact forms, a custom training e-commerce website built. with my 2 years of experience i’d charge them with very little as each page is not from a template. and they said my $4500 for all of those is too steep. like gtfo that’s 3 months worth of work and $4500 is too steep? and you want custom designs, aight cool man
