Interesting. This is exactly what happened to me in the fall in a puddle very close to what this one looks like. I went down too and by watching these fellows go down I see they did the exact same thing as I did, went in too fast. The riders that did well were going in at a slower but steady pace and not trying to "gun" it through. The bike seems to lose it's balance when going too fast in deep water.

Yeah, if you were really on you own , out in the middle of nowhere, and you dropped the bike, you'd still be there! Most modern "off road bikes" are way too heavy, and definitely way too expensive!

Why don't you all buy proper trail or enduro bikes and have some fun? I have been trail riding for 40 years and competed at trials, enduro and sand racing but would not dream of taking one of those touring bikes up there!
