Many groups either loved the Spectrum or hated it. The ones who gave us our moneys worth; they loved Philly and we loved them. I recall Iron Maiden in 1986...they did 3 or 4 encores and that place went nuts. The Spectrum had great sight lines and most importantly, she had a Spirit about her. Hockey teams and basketball teams did not like to come in to that building. My fondest memory was 1976 when the Broad Street Bullies kicked the shit out of the Russian Army team. That was legendary! We loved Triumph, Rush, Yes, Maiden, Megadeth, Blue Oyster Cult and many others because, they left nothing on that stage after their shows. They knew that we in Philly can tell when somebody was just mailing it in.

Great band on vinyl and better live. Oh man the good old days will never return. Too bad the glory hog Gil Moore and the music industry had to ram it all into the ground. However Rik has a good presence here on YT and he shows a lot of wisdom for young (and old) musicians that we can take to heart. He is happy and very much keeping his music alive. Saw them on the SoK tour in Texas in the early 80's and will never forget it. Incredible show. Saw them 10 years later, in Texas again, without Rik (who had been replaced with TWO guitarists) and they were not good....at all. The Magic Power was gone from the band as it left with Rik.

@@SmackWaterJack001Great place! I saw Judas priest there in the lower balcony, right in front of them on the Scream For Vengeance tour. I didn't realize how great those seats were. Wo. Of course that's back when people lit their lighters for encores and for priest they were lighting cups and throwing them in the aisle, smh, so they were literally going to burn reunion down but other people started stomping them out and cussing a lot at the people doing it but it was a great show. People can get pretty stupid drunk in mass 😀 Wasn't long after that you couldn't even smoke in there and then they started having concerts at the Coke a cola starplex (outside venue).
