@@jumpinjojo Yes I agree- underrated. Kinda like Rush. Extremely successful but mostly within their own fan base. Personally I was on board with both, but neither got the overall recognition they deserved. Look how long it took for Rush to get into R&R HOF- and Triumph STILL isn’t there. At least not the US Cleveland one.

I loved Triumph when all my friends were hooked on Van Halen, I was screaming for Triumph!! When I finally got to see them live in Phoenix, Arizona it was 1986 and I was pregnant. They preformed at the Colosseum and the minute they started playing my son started jamming in my stomach!! Can't remeber who opened for them, but I was surprised there was not a bigger following. I enjoyed the show soooo much, till this day my favorite concert!

Just... HOLY F***!! Gil Moore's vocal is like a mix of the best of Mike Reno (Loverboy) and David Coverdale (Whitesnake). Absolutely SUPERB band, vocally and musically. They don't produce bands like Triumph anymore. Perfection all around. ❤
@billybandyk0720 Жыл бұрын
Lisa D.; COMPLETELY AGREED!!!!! I'm gonna add 1 name in2 the fray (so 2 speak); JLT (Joe Lynn Turner) from Rainbow. The manner in how all 4 (Moore, Reno, Coverdale, & Turner) CARRY A TUNE is PHENOMENAL!!!!!! In other words, they can change their vocal pitch w/o losing stride. Granted; what I'm alluding 2 may sound technical but only a trained musical fan can detect such nuances. Consider urself amongst them (that's actually a damn fuckin' good thing).
@katprince5528 Жыл бұрын
@Lisa,I saw the Rock and Roll Machine tour way back in 1977 at a tiny auditorium called Le Plateau Hall Montreal,Que,300 seat capacity,they absolutely blew the roof right off.Gil is a superb vocalist and off the chart drummer,Rik's scorching licks and intricate detail in his playing has given me a lot of technique in my playing.He has an hour and a half lesson here,you'll love it.

THE 2ND GREATEST CANADIAN BAND OF ALL TIME!! What a shame they didn't see the longevity that RUSH did. "LIVE IN HALIFAX" I used to have this dvd. It's so good I try to not watch it too often. It's just too good to burn yourself out on. This is one of the greatest performances of ANY 80's band. If you ever wanna "prove" what you're saying about TRIUMPH is TRUE, make them watch this concert. It is a COMMAND PERFORMANCE(for the fans) and the boys let it all hang out! Peace bro's ~ Enjoy LIVE IN HALIFAX and SHARE IT. Every band should have a true virtuoso guitarist. This band does. And nobody could hit Rik's upper vocal frequencies either. I'm just sayin!! LOVE this band.

If Rik hadn't got the itch to leave I think they could have rested on their catalog and still sold out anywhere, but 1988 Rik wanted out, they are cool now, but it was rough for 20 years.

I'd say Rush is the the third best band that came out of Canada. 1. Triumph 2. April Wine 3. Rush.... I truly believe you can even say BTO and The Guess Who are better than Rush. After Rush's first album they really went down hill. They put everything into their first album. Triumph kept it rocking until the split.

Open Thinker I don’t agree at all, Rush didn’t go downhill after their first album, but that’s imo. Rush is my favorite band of all time, but Triumph is great as well, Rik is also one of my favorite guitarists along with Alex.

I won a radio station contest, along with others, to meet Triumph after their show in Springfield, IL some time in the mid to late 80’s. We all sat at a big table backstage where they served us soda and beer (which I drank even though I wasn’t old enough 😆) while we waited for the band to come out and meet us. It never happened. The band bailed and left us all hangin’. The radio station apologized but never gave us a good reason. It was disappointing because I really wanted to meet them. But it was a great show, I got a t-shirt and free beer, lol. Still love ya, Triumph! 😀
