Thanks Bob...went seen the Bobber today at the dealership here in London..on.Canada...thats it I'm sold on Triumph...was considering the 48 Harley...but now I see there is no comparison....my concern was the handle bars and the slight lean forward you mentioned...so yes the apes seemed to be the answer....thankyou for confirming that... appreciated your video....happy trails my friend

Thanks. Yes they are properly brown. I was a bit disappointed with them. I thought they would be almost black. Hey ho you get used to them (still looking good BTW)

great video Bob, I have ordered my bobber with mini apes, red tank, brown seat and olive panniers. shame about the chrome pannier bars, I think I will get my powder coated black. I thin I will get cruise added once I have it. It was nice to see your bike with the apes, makes me feel happy to have selected the same, cheers Jamie

Hi Bob! Thanks for your informative video! I'm going to get my Bobber next Wednesday - can't wait!! Maybe I'll do a short video riding her home... I still can't decide, if I should order the Triumph panniers or go with a cheaper but smaller option... For the most part, I would use them to carry some extra fuel because I don't trust this peanut tank... :)
@bobhewitt10657 жыл бұрын
Hi Lee, I'm sure you'll love the Bobber. I thought about getting a small jerry can to sit in one of the panniers but to be honest you always get plenty of notice when the low fuel warning light comes on. You will get at least 20 miles+ in the tank still. Try living with it for a while before making your decision.
@8654ZuluFoxtrot6 жыл бұрын
Not sure where you ride, but 100 mile range should be plenty for this style of bike. I was on the fence about this as well and just about wrote this bike off because of the small tank. But, when I really considered what I would use it for there was nowhere I would ride that 100 miles wasn't enough range. I currently have a Yamaha FZ-09 with a larger fuel tank. But it gets a bit less gas mileage than the Bobber. I ride it 59 miles each way to work and it goes on low fuel, and almost ran out a few times. Considering you can get close to 90 miles (using premium gas) before the low fuel light comes on with the Bobber, and you have about 25 miles still left in the tank, you certainly could extend your distance to 100 miles without batting an eye.

That’s one of the most beautiful bikes I’ve ever seen. I’ve wanted to start riding for a long time but have always been put off because I’m 6ft8. Feel like I’d look like a clown on a kids bike.
@bobhewitt10656 жыл бұрын
Look for a guy in Finland who has made some KZbin Bobber videos. He's 6-4 and is very happy with it (and it doesn't look like a clown's bike ;-). Although 6-8 is maybe pushing it. I'm a nipper at 6-1 so I think you're going to have to get a test ride and get the opinion of a honest mate as to if you look too big on it
@ratmanbug7 жыл бұрын
Lovely bike, Bob. Test rode one recently, what a really fun and lively bike to ride. As everyone says, I had a big smile on my face. With the stripped down, light, bike and 1,200 cc's, there's plenty of oomph there, narrow and fairly manoeuvrable. However, I felt a bit big for the bike at 5'10". Not sure I'd want to do a long journey. The mini apes might resolve that. Just need to justify owning two bikes! Bags look good, too. The bike I rode had Vance and Hines pipes on and it sounded great. £500 extra from the dealer, though!
@bobhewitt10657 жыл бұрын
Probably my main concern with the bike was the size. I was really concerned that I would look like I was on a circus bike. So glad I bit the bullet (with help from lots of online comments from taller people). My missus said I'd never looked as comfy on a bike as this one when I picked it up. I've heard that swapping the cat out with an x-pipe makes a great difference to the sound of the bike. I've got to say I'd probably try that before springing for the V&H pipes (although I have heard they're good). I would like to try a small tour next year on the Bobber. For sure not an ideal touring bike but there's something about taking inappropriate bikes touring that adds to the fun or maybe I'm just perverse ;-)

@bobhewitt10652 жыл бұрын
Hi David, the mini apes are about 10.5 inches over the standard bars. If you want to fit them you'll need the wiring harness extension from Triumph as well. Hope that helps.

Keep meaning to do a video but here goes. Top two: No1. Engine, simply perfect. No2. Bend swinging (until you hit the deck). Worst two: No1 Tank range - you're just always thinking about the next fuel stop (although I love the look of the tank). No.2 Bend swinging, it should go on forever but just when you're really enjoying yourself you touch down. I've taken to angling my foot upwards in anticipation and when it does happen (not very often) you sort of skate through the corner. All in all a brilliant bike. It will put a smile on your face GUARANTEED!

Hi, thanks for the comment. They are 32 inches wide tip to tip (your hands are inboard of that measurement). The hight from the handlebar clamp is 12 inches. Everything plus minus 1/2 inch as the bars bend back and down slightly at the grips and it's all depending on which position you lock them in. I hope that helps and good luck!

What is it like turning right at a junction with the ape bars.. I have a Suzuki vs1400 and find it heavy and am afraid to lean to much when turning sharp right
@bobhewitt10654 жыл бұрын
Hi, it's not top heavy, all the weight is super low down however when doing very slow speed tight manoeuvres it does want to drop its head into the corner. It can catch you out sometimes turning right as you say, but if you set off with a positive throttle (if you know what I mean) it's fine. Dawdling can cause it to want to fall into the corner and you have to dab your foot down after a warning tweak from your arse :-). I hope that helps.
@antonywalker39284 жыл бұрын
@@bobhewitt1065 it does...I test drove a black bobber but didnt really try slow turns as I was all google eyed... but having gone out for a few hundred miles on my Suzuki vs 1400 after buying it... I'm terrified of dropping it on a stop and turn sharp right... and didnt know if i traded it in for the bobber it might be easier
