Triumph Daytona 660 - Review / First Impressions

the sound and beauty of the Honda is unmatched by anyone in its class. I had a gsxr 600 back in the day and the only one that can replace it today is the Honda 650 R . great choice. I hope next summer we can go on a little trip together. Your videos are very nice, keep up the good work 💪👍🏻

Nice review, we are lucky to have such a great selection of bikes for different tastes now. I did consider the Daytona as the triple seems a nice engine. Love the looks at the front, not so much at the rear. The deal breaker for me was 2 things. 1. The display (i wanted a full TFT) . 2. In any other colour than black its looks like they forgot the paint the back half the bike. Real shame as the red is amazing but looks like 2 halves. I might still go and test ride one for fun. Its not just the young ones that like the aggressive styling :) I am 50 and went CBR RED! Its important to look back at your bike and think wow!

The display is cool, very high resolution but I personally like the CBRs a bit more - I agree on the paint I still think the Daytona in red looks fantastic!

The whistling is a known 3cyl sound characteristic.

Told you !! (I’d commented in one of your earlier videos :) The triples are great man…& the whistling sound you mentioned…that’s a characteristic of a triple (particularly a triumph…it’s not that evident on the Yamaha’s Triple) I’d personally buy the Daytona over the CBR…I’m guessing you’d also prefer it over the CBR on most days :D And yeah max speed is about 229 kmph…which is too much for most ppl

Erstmal danke für deinen super Support 🙏🏻 da ich den neuen ND Filter ausprobiert habe, hatte ich keine Stabilisation. Ich wollte das nachträglich beim bearbeiten hinzufügen, es hat aber quasi gar nichts gebracht und einfach 3 std lang stabilisiert lol. Zwecks der Aufnahme des Displays, bin ich selbst bisschen enttäuscht. Ich suche gerade noch nach einer Lösung dafür, Ich hab nicht damit gerechnet dass es so schwer zu erkennen ist - werde ich aber in Zukunft besser machen, mich ärgert das selbst… Ich muss die Tage ein paar Tests machen um zu sehen, wie ich die Stabilisation mit dem ND Filter nutzen kann, ohne Qualität zu verlieren, mit meinem ADHS ist still bleiben aber auch echt schwer 😂 Ich weiß dein Feedback echt sehr zu schätzen, du zauberst mir mit deinen Kommentaren immer ein Lächeln ins Gesicht!

Kriege meine hoffentlich Anfang nächster Woche. Ich freu mich soooo sehr! :) Viele Leute schimpfen ja, weil die Daytona den Daytona-Namen trägt. Mir persönlich egal. Wird mein erstes Bike nach A-Schein und ich hoffe ich hab ne Menge Spaß damit. :) Ich hatte auch die CBR650R und die Suzi 8-R auf dem Zettel, aber Verfügbarkeiten sind da eher Meh, weil Nachfrage recht hoch (was ja für diese Bikes spricht). Hab aber nen super Deal für die Daytona bekommen, also ist es die. ^^

I have the Daytona 660 scince a week and also testrode the cbr. I love the Daytona overall a LOT, but the cbr definitely has slightly better windprotection. The bike is very well finished and smooth tho

For the Americans, that fuel mileage he's quoting is for UK gallons. For American gallons, it comes out to 48mpg, which seems much more inline with expectations. Remember kids, British gallons are slightly smaller than American gallons.

The torque on the Daytona is slightly earlier than on the CBR, which means you don’t need to rev it as high - it rides unruly but all in all I would say they are about the same. The bike was really enjoyable at 220kmh though

The Triumph has 0 "buzz" feeling like the CBR has at certain RPM ranges, but when you rev the Triumph up high it has this sort of rumbling vibration which isn't annoying it just feels likie you're creating a crapload of power. The CBR doesn't really vibrate much when you rev it high in comparison.

How was the wind protection?How does the comfort compare to the cbr . I sat on the daytona and it was more aggresive then i thought it would be . Have not been able to sot on a cbr yet. I found the suzuki more comfortable then daytona.

I have to say the Wind protection is surprisingly good, but not as good as on my CBR, ofc also because I have a higher windshield

Hallo Thomas, ich musste in letzter Zeit immer wieder an diesen bzw. dein Review zur Daytona 660 denken, tatsächlich gefällt sie mir immer besser. Ich bin noch am überlegen, ob meine erste Maschine ein Naked-Bike wird zB Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple 765 (R/RS) oder doch Richtung Sportbike ala Kawasaki ZX-6R (2024), Triumph Daytona 660, Honda CBR650R (2024) 🤔 Hat sich vielleicht mittlerweile etwas an deiner Meinung zu dieser Daytona 660 geändert und siehst du sie als eine würdige Konkurrentin zu deiner Schönheit (CBR650R)? Wenn du mit deiner bisherigen Erfahrung, Stand heute, erneut vor einer Kaufentscheidung stehen würdest, für welche Maschine hättest du dich entscheiden (von mir aus egal welcher Hersteller) und warum? Ich kann es kaum erwarten deine Meinung zu erfahren, danke dir im Voraus 🥳

Ich würde nicht mal sagen, dass die CBR650R und die Daytona in Konkurrenz stehen. Beide Bikes sind auf Ihre eigene Art und Weise unfassbar besonders - ich würde dennoch wieder die CBR kaufen, weil mir der 4 Zylinder einfach etwas mehr zusagt. Die Daytona ist aber großartig. Wenn ich die mal für ne längere Zeit hätte wäre das ganz toll.

Darf ich kurz fragen, wie viele Bikes Du vor der CBR besessen und wie viele Zweizylinder Du vor diesem schon gefahren hast? Mich macht ein wenig stutzig, dass Du davon ausgehst, niemand mit Vierzylinder-Erfahrung würde einen "unruhigen" Zweier in Erwägung ziehen. Lass mich Dir aus Erfahrung berichten: Es gibt durchaus viele, die sich in der Tat bewusst für diese Motorcharakteristik entscheiden. Gerade kleinere Vierer können einem mit der Zeit auch schon ganz schön auf die Nerven gehen.

Mein erstes Bike war eine SV650 :) die hat sich vom Fahrgefühl besser angefühlt, als die GSX8R - meiner Meinung nach! Hab auch nicht behauptet, dass niemand einen zwei Zylinder möchte. Die sind grundsätzlich geil, Aber halt unruhiger
