The key out of range issue is down to people not turning the key off when not in use and running the battery down in the fob, hold it until it goes red when you leave the bike then it will be fine. Mine was like that when I first got the bike, put a new battery in the key fob, turn it off when not in use and it works no problem :-)

Purchased mine in April of 2020.....absolutely love this bike, the amount of power seem to be endless, it handles very well and stops very well. Only this I changed was to add a slightly larger wind screen. An amazing machine for sure.

Nice to see someone ride in the country on some "twisties" - most videos show riders on the wide roads/highways with no corners just blipping the throttle in 3rd gear and giggling at the torque. BTW... I thought I'd want the R model but... I have ordered the GT with Mid Position Foot Pegs as I prefer that riding position to feet forward. With this GT configuration I also ordered a rack BUT I get heated grips, larger fly screen, nicer looking wheels and the cissy bar (which I wasn't too bothered with) but will stop me losing luggage and pillion riders! TWO WEEKS to go until mine is delivered.... I'm like a little kid at Christmas!

Excuse my OCD, but the Rocket 3 feature I most admire is the tank’s hidden pinch-weld; makes Triumph’s other “classic” bikes look like punched out tin toys.

It's an awesome bike. A moot point because I don't have the cash , not sure what one I'd pick. I'd need to try out the R version too. Cruiser pegs were very weird for me when I test rode the GT. I prefer the mainly metallic red colour scheme, and if I had one I'd just spend lots of time looking at it. This bike is a thing of beauty. Whenever I go to my local Triumph dealer's I always have a good admiring look at it again , and again .... I was a bit terrified before I got on to it, but as you say it is surprisingly easy to ride. Dropping any bike terrifies me, the mass of this one, would terrify me just that bit more. I think I'd need a crane to pick it back up. I still do want one ( as a second or maybe third bike ! ) but that's not going to happen anytime soon . oh hum !

Beautiful bike, I'm not normally patient, but £21k, is a bit steep, so I'm trying to convince myself to wait until the second hand market starts to get a couple of decent ones, at a better price..

Dear Tom @TommyBarnezTV. The 2020 Triumph Rocket 3 GT Phantom Black is the bike I would love to own, but given the high price of the bike (£23,349.42 including accessories of choice) in contrast to my low pension, it is completely unrealistic. So it's simply for the old man (me) to dream on. Ride Safe & May God Bless You.

I'm thinking of getting my first bike, and this Rocket 3 seems like a proper sort of bike, indeed. But, being 5 foot 3 1/2", not sure if I'll reach those forward pegs. Would the "R" version be a better choice?

First bike!!? And you want to jump on a Rocket?? I'd think again - any 500/750cc+ would be enough to start on. I've been riding for 15+ years and had to think real hard about buying a Rocket. (Awaiting delivery - 2 weeks to go...) It's a beautiful machine (#inlove) so I get why you'd want one.

Can you compare this bike to the 2020 goldwing? I think that is its main competition. This thing obviously wins in the looks department, but I know from experience what really matters is comfort in the long run as to whether or not you want to actually drive it anywhere. With the feet forward I'm thinking it might be more comfortable than the goldwing in fact. I know there is a custom windshield for this which can be adjusted to go as high as the goldwing windshield and a quickshifter as well. I'm just wondering if the goldwing offers more weather protection and comfort or not.
@TommyBarnezTV3 жыл бұрын
Sorry I've not ridden the goldwing yet so hopefully someone else can comment. I'll be riding the goldwing at some point this summer...
@100toeface3 жыл бұрын
I actually think the xdiavel s might be the best. It has a nearly upright riding position with feet forward and low speed torque available at even low rpms. That means its fun to drive at low speeds, which lets be honest are the only speeds you can drive legally anyhow. Probably handles better too and is easier to maneuver. And it looks cooler too, more like a batcycle.

For a bike of this style with a pear shaped tank and slightly classic look, I think Triumph should have put the clocks off a Speed Twin / Thruxton. Mind you I guess they'd also suffer from "blurred clock syndrome" . This does seem to affect a lot of bike reviews I see on youtube. Possibly not 125s , but almost everything else !
@TommyBarnezTV4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think something else. I think two separate tft screens tilted towards each other slightly but then also a redesign on the front lights to make them slightly more aggressive and less dopey looking :)
@karlosh92864 жыл бұрын
Little fly screens. I think they make naff all difference. I put the largest Dart "Marlin" on my Speed Twin. I think it makes the wind blast on my helmet worse. I'll have to try it with if off again. A fly screen like something on the Tigers would do something, maybe a Tiger Sport more rounded style might go with this bike, maybe it would muck up its looks.
@TommyBarnezTV4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think best to just not have one. I think screens that work do look a bit naff. Talking about tigers... just got in from a ride on the new 900... lovely

@@karlosh9286 it depends what you're doing with it. I ride a vstrom as my daily and do about 20k miles a year in all weather in and around London. Adventure style bikes perfect for that. I reviewed the 1200 and 800 tigers last year. Great bikes. The 900 is a significant improvement on the 800 though and maybe even the perfect bike for what I do...
