Robert Smigel is one of the greatest comedy writers ever. He's also a great performer in do-or-die situations. But he's not great at promoting himself. I've listened to every podcast he's been on. He always seems uncomfortable talking about himself, especially in one-on-one situations, maybe because he feels pressure to be entertaining. Podcasts are not about being funny. He was great on We Might Be Drunk maybe because he didn't feel pressure, maybe because there were two hosts and another guest. Bring a comic with you on podcasts as a guest, tell some stories, talk about the great work you've done, your collaborations with beloved comics and actors like Norm or other SNL cast or movie stars. That's what the podcast audiences want to hear. You have worked with the greatest people in the business, you've done amazing work. You have made us laugh forever, it's good for the younger generations to know your amazing work.
