Dealership told me exhaust only got hot on the legs on warm summer days. (They said that when I pointed out the heat). So I guess it's a general problem now that you also had the heating problem. Nice video!

I guess it does makes sense for an exhaust to get hot. Even with some heat shielding. I figure, for a complete protection the shield would have to be very bulky and heavy. Also, I do like the high exhaust look. Loved it on my first bike, the classic Honda Hornet. If the rest of the bike would fit better, then the hot exhaust wouldn't be such a problem. I'd simply wear better pants :D

@@MargusMoto Yeah it looks good but I had pants on and still felt it was too hot on my leg. They should improve the protection... =)

True, that is something you shouldn't be worrying about while riding.

Nice test ride mate! The main issue with this bike is the proximity of the exhaust, a good thing to get your leg burned when you ride through the city I guess. Is May's dash dead ? Looks like it took some humidity in it or something ? It's maybe just a camera effect Is the riding season finally back ? Peace!

May's dash was dead indeed. It was replace by the dealership under warranty. My bike now has about 7K less on the clock :D And the riding season is most definitely back due to the serious lack of winter this year!

@@MargusMoto Ho that's a bummer for your dash, what happened ? Since it was under warranty it's all good but you'll have to be carefull in the future, is it a known issue on the 701 ? 🤔 Sad for the planet but good for riders to know that the season's already restart 😉 Enjoy!

As far as I know it is a common problem with those 701 Huskys. Bad seals on the buttons. I still have a bit over a year of warranty left. After that I'll probably just fix it myself :D

Somewhat, indeed. But I haven't heard of a bike that doesn't have its quirks. And to be honest, I rarely look at the dash anyway 😁

I am curious about the heat, however from what I see in your video you appear to be wearing pretty thin pair of khaki pants improper foot wear and ankle socks. Wondering if you have better gear for riding and have the same results?

That is a fair point. I do have proper riding gear that I wear for longer rides, but this is pretty much what I wear for daily rides which rarely last more than 10 minutes. I don't think the heat would be this noticeable at faster speeds and with decent pants. It might also be different if you are a shorter or a taller rider and your feet are placed a bit differently.. But then again, these are exhaust pipes after all and they do conduct heat, and there is no way to escape that. That's why I'm afraid the heat (at least while stationary) would be there even with better pants...

That's some bike! I've always found Triumphs hard to turn, even the Tiger, compared to my bike. That exhaust is a big problem though!! Nice test ride mate, ride safe!

Yeah, it sure is shame about that exhaust. I really love the look of a high exhaust like that. Too bad it is so unpractical..

What is with these heat issues with Triumph, My 2019 Triumph Tiger 1200 XCA cooks your crotch when the temperature is over 80F. Do these Engineers ever ride these bikes.

I think those Engineers are in cold and damp England and quite likely welcome any heat they can experience... 😁

I didn't. Only had time for one quick jolt. And to be honest I am kinda more interested in the new 900 Tiger (maybe because of the new Bond movie :D )
