After 2,000 km on the RR, I‘d summarize my experience as follows: stunning look, the details and the paint of the bike are gorgeous (I have it in red hopper). Engine very powerful, but annoying vibrations around 100-120 km/h. The brake is excellent, one finger brake. Suspension perfect balance between comfort and sport. Very confidence-inspiring. Seating position sucks after a while, a lot of pressure on your wrists. Compared to the Speed Triple 1050 RS (which was my previous bike), the 1200 RR has far more power at higher revs, but it kind of lacks emotions. The great sound between 2,000 and 6,000 revs is gone; what I do like is the sound of the intake. In a nutshell: great bike that is a little painful to drive and lacks emotions.

Great video, great bike and rider! I drove the Speed Triple 1200 RR for 5 hours over some passes in the Swiss Alps. I am 173 cm tall and for me the seating position was comfortable, really ok. ... and I had such a blast. However, I will stick with my Thruxton 1200 RS, the Speed Triple would cost me my driving permit in no time. 🙂

It looks stunning indeed - less suited for a tall rider. Ok. on the track where you come in again after a 20’ turn but for touring the whole day the RS is the better option. And yes, it pays to have the suspension adjusted to the rider’s weight😎🏁🏁

@@SirMountainpass I agree, although I regulary take mine out for 1 to 2 hour runs and I'm fine with that it's not designed to be a tourer. It suprises me that a minority of reviewers say it's uncomfortable over long distances, I mean what next? are they going to say the Rocket3 is not perfect because it's not very good off road and doesn't make for a good adventure bike??

Hello Julian from North Carolina. I loved the review and I think Triumph knocked this one out of the park, to use a baseball term. Its powerful, classy, has performance parts and its a triple! I would also like to see Triumph bring back the Daytona again. I looked at one of these about 5 months ago but just didn't want to pay that much for a bike, but I definitely liked all that I read about it! It matches you riding leathers and you look fantastic on the bike! You should keep it... You compliment a good looking bike which is meant as a compliment to you. Sweetest bike reviewer out there the world over.. Take care and look forward to all your future reviews! Ride safe as I know you will! Lots of love to your chanel.

A great balanced and constructive review of the RR. I haven't ridden one, but have been riding a 1200 RS since October 2021 and it is getting better as I cover more miles. I agree about the stiff suspension of the RS and feedback by others regarding the difficulty in selecting neutral. After dialling back the compression and rebound settings (front and rear), I am finding I can easily live with the bike from a comfort perspective and ease of neutral selection is getting better as the miles on the bike increase. I really enjoy the style and structure of your reviews 👍

Very detailed and honest review as always :) Wow, looks beautiful in black and white, and a lovely stance but it doesn't look overly aggresive ('friendly' round headlight) - a great mix of retro/cafe looks and technology. I guess the no phone mount or taller windscreen option because, as you say, it's not a tourer, but I guess you could do a daily commute (30 minutes) very easily in Road Mode then let loose on weekends :)

This is the best review of this bike I've heard. Well, at least, it's the review that most arcuately reflects my own opinion. :) I have 5k miles on my white RR and it's just a blast to ride. I have trouble finding faults with this bike other than the initial price but all bikes are getting expensive and you do get a lot of bike for your money with the RR. The "trouble finding neutral issue" that some have experienced was never that bad on mine and completely went away after about 1k miles. It's the engine, suspension and chassis that set this thing apart. It's pretty terrific. Mine has a carbon SC Project slip on muffler and a tail tidy but I don't think I can improve this bike with add on bits. One note for potential buyers; I've had other bikes that people would comment on but this bike makes people ask questions, so if you get one, be prepared.

As always, very good review, covering all the necessary items. Great bike, one of my friends was on this for a weekend tour and it performed well for sport touring, however, not sure about the range but it seems that the bike did not have a very good range from how often we had to stop for refuel.

I had the Evotech Phone mount when I had the 1200RR. Like you said Juliane, there are really no good options for a phone mount on this model, but the Evotech was really good. I bought this on total "lack of impulse control" when I heard about it. Had it for just a few months last year before I traded it in for at R1250GS as I have a Z H2 that sort of totally overwhelms the 1200RR powerwise. Still I really liked the 1200RR and I have own a couple of Speed Triples before.
@SSS-mp8th
@SSS-mp8th Жыл бұрын
I am thinking of the RR to replace my R9T. I also have a ZH2 and after riding that a bit the R9T just feels slow. The power to weight ratio of the RR is actually better than ZH2 so I was hoping this would not feel slow compared to the ZH2 but also look pretty. I'm also seeing some really good discounts on 2022 models.
@TL1000S97
@TL1000S97 Жыл бұрын
@@SSS-mp8th Stock the RR is a bit faster in acceleration than the Z H2, but in a more "gentle" way if you know what I mean. The Z H2 is sort "bucky wild" in Sport mode at least. I have "un-neutered" and added intercooler/stage-2 gear so my Z H2 is in another league than the RR. Now I also have the 2023 M1000R and that bike is much faster than a stock Z H2. In "road" mode it is still just fast in a very non-drama way. WIth the wheelie-control set to the lowest setting (1) in Race mode.. it will hover the front wheel from 0 to 130mp++ "safely" :D

Nice to watch a nice and gentle lady reviewing this wonderful bike!;) Good review! Agree to pretty much all of it!;) 😃 I have the same one in white!;)👆🏻👆🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻 and I just love it!!! Even on a road mode, I love overtaking like balancing right to left and squeezing the throttle and the bike just take off its front wheel on the leaning angle this is just brilliant!!!! Ahah!:) so much thrill!!! And this is just in road mode! Anyway, it’s been now only 1.5 month, and about 1700 miles and I just love it 😃😃!!✊🏻💨💨 it’s an aspiration to Speed!! That triple engine is just marvelous! 👍🏻 Juliane, as another rider mate was leaving his comment right here and speaking about the EvoTech, I also got a few wonderful parts from them , as well as a great mount for your phone!! EvoTech are doing cool accessories and really nicely designed for the SpeedTriple 1200 RR/RS! And brilliant quality! I just got that phone mount from them, they designed a special bracket to be fixed on the front fuel tank mountings, and you’ll have your phone floating on top of the triple clamp’s nut/yoke, associated with a quad lock fixing! You should have a look!;) Otherwise you’re lucky your “my Triumph app navigation” is working well, cause mine always have struggle if I decide to take another route or miss a route, the TFT dashboard will not update and always show to turn back..😒🤦🏻‍♂️ apparently I have heard it has problems with iPhone.. but works fine with other androids.. what phone do you have just by curiosity please? Thanks for your video!! All the best!;) cheers!;)😃😉👍🏻✊🏻💨👋🏻🥂

This is the most interesting bike in a lot of years given its versitility and looks. You got the torque and power of a bigger bike, and the looks of a smaller bike. About the windscreen, it is different for a forward leaning bike where you would actually want wind to hit your chest while in your normal riding position because that creates lift. If you're cruising in 100-150kmph for a longer period of time that lift is very welcomed. If autobahn cruising above 200kmph+ then you would want cover behind the screen so that will be different of course. You can try a double bubble screen but for normal street riding that will often be more tiring because you need to use more muscles to keep your body upright. At the end of the day it will depend on your height and what bike, but it is different when you compare windscreen effect on a sportbike to a more upright sitting bike given your body position on each bike in relation to wind.

I struggled to find a good place on my old 02 Daytona to mount a phone, too. It's well and truly pre on-board navigation so the phone is a little more important. There was only one tiny place next to the clutch to attach my Quad Lock mount, but it came with the problem you saw with the phone hitting the cockpit. I eventually found I could connect it around the metal tube that the cockpit connects to and the mirrors bolt on to, then get an extender for the mount. With the vibration dampener and USB charger, it puts it in just about place the only place that works. It blocks me from seeing the first digit on the speedometer, but I'd hope I could tell the difference between 60 and 160km/h. I prefer it not moving with the bars, too.

On looks, I would go with the RR in a heartbeat. And based on how you review the riding, it's a lot like the first generation Aprilia RSV Mille. A bike I had for 10 years, and loved very much. So, please, everyone: buy this RR so I can get a second hand one in like 5 to 8 years😉 I promise I won't be picky about the colour. The white is beautiful, but the red looks stunning as well

If I had a bike like that the last thing I would worry about is where to put my phone. Also I wonder how many people that consider buying this motorcycle actually know or are capable to use it to its full potential without killing themselves or others, a small percentage I guess...

Leather cover on your tank with a plastic window would take care of the phone problem.

Nice review. I have the same bike, but I am not convinced that this bike is less confortable than the RS. Here you can stay on the tank and traveling without any effort from the back and the neck. In the city, yes I agree the RR is not designed for the traffic. Ciao
