Back the adjuster off and centre the shoes and then the brake drum will slide on freely. Then wind the adjustment out until the drum is locked and back it off until the shoes are just touching the inside of the drum.

Thanks. The adjuster was siezed and couldnt get a grip on it. It's all back together now though

Did you check the end float on the Crankshaft thrust washers, pull the pully back and forth to see how much play there is, I had to scrap a perfectly running Engine cos the Thrust washers had fell out and I found them in the Sump..

I didn't, but i have since removed the sump and cleaned everything. Nothing in there but old oil luckily.

@@BritSpit Yeah them thrust washers are the most important things to check on these engines has they will gouge the Crank and Block mating surfaces making the Engine scrap, Cheers for your content pal..

Nice video, I just assembled the rear brakes on my GT6 tonight as well :-) I think that your brake shoe facing the rear is not positioned correctly; the notch should be at the bottom instead of the top. I don’t know whether that’s a big deal or not though...

Seems to work ok. I'll double check in the Haynes manual!
