The soft top rear window's zip is broken so we need to fox/replace the zip and while we have to soft top out, let's do a little refurb work #Triumph #Stag

Well done for the brave decision to hand sew in a new zip, it looks to be successful operation. I'm so scared of breaking my zip I usually leave the window in place when stowing the hood, even if you have to fold the window behind the seat! That looks to be an original hood so hopefully you managed to prolong its life. Have you ever worked out what those 2 elasticated tabs are for round the window - one of the Stag mysteries I'm yet to solve...

Yeah, I’ve not undone the zip since installing it and I have no idea what the elastic tabs are for. But the original roof is still going strong

Love the Video, are you going to upload the next part of the soft top in stallation. In the same part with a decent bit of welding of my 1973 stsg,. But I,m enjoiying it, loved your explaining very clear and relaxed. Well done

Hi John, thanks for the lovely feedback. Unfortunately I lost the footage of me sewing in a new zip and reinstalling the soft top. It is probably 2-3 years ago now. But the window and zip are holding firm which is nice

Thank you for soft top removal looking forward to soft top replacement

Sorry piacerre1, but all the video got damaged somehow and I didn't manage a part 2 in the end. Soft top is already back on the car. But replacement is the reverse of removal. I would advise having a second body to help get it in initially. Once there you can move it around to fit the relevant connections/bolts

@@HenrysGarage so will there be any more Stag videos?

@@davidmoss1415 Hi David, there will be if I do any work on the car, but at the moment that's only likely to be a service or a drive and I'm not sure anyone is interested in that
