I loved the look of the bench seat, but I found it uncomfortable when I sat on it in the showroom. I would be interested how people rated the seat whilst riding.

IT looks nicer than I thought it would but I would probly stick with the stock seat with the strap removed.

That seat looks killer. May just get it for my t100

I had a '69 T100R for many years, and this bench seat has a very similar look to my old one-except it's much thinner. Looks great, but I suspect you'd have the same problem I used to have-- sliding to the back at speed.
@mancavemoto8 жыл бұрын
I agree, I personally think the stock seat suits the sweeping lines of the street twin, it's just a little too long
@phanuong876 ай бұрын
cool review man. How comfortable is this seat compare to stock seat?
@mancavemoto6 ай бұрын
I always found it to me more comfortable as you aren't 'pinned' in one position
@rajivpandit15128 жыл бұрын
Discovered the bench seat isn't a direct fit if Triumph's luggage rack is fitted on the bike - the plate interferes with the bolt heads and doesn't lock. So couldn't buy one, though I quite liked it.
@johnfitzsimons31988 жыл бұрын
Rajiv Pandit If u take a dremel to the underside of the bench seat u can make it fit, u basically dremel out where the bolts for the luggage rack are, there are a few vids up on the internet of how to measure it up! I recently did mine, i had a grab rail on and same problem! much happier with the new seat as at 5'11 found the stock one very low.

Hi. Got my Street Twin a month back. Does any one has a problem with the stock seat? I cannot sit on it for more than an hour without having butt pain...
@Fr997635 жыл бұрын
No, I fell it is quite good. I got the Speed Twin which is more or less the same. I had a Speedmaster before and on that bike I got major pain on longer journeys. With the Speedtwin its all well.

Hey Tony, Needed some help again. How do I find out where I can get third party accessories for my Street Twin? A simple google search doesn't help. Could you point me to some nice companies that make accessories/mods/gear for the Street Twin. Or any go to site that can notify me on updates for the Street Twin? Thank you as always for the lovely videos. Ordered myself the Motone fuel filler cap! Love it
@mancavemoto8 жыл бұрын
Hi Parthiv, nice to hear from you. There are a few third party parts coming through slowly. Motone have a number of parts available now, but more are on the way. The guys at Down & Out Cafe Racers will have a number of bolt on parts very soon. I've seen that Rizoma have released a few parts including a tail tidy. Tecbikeparts have some suspension upgrades and British Customs have a smattering of items too. I suspect it also won't be long until Triumph add to their collection. How's that for starters?
@parthiv19918 жыл бұрын
That's lovely for starters! Thank you, I really look forward to your videos. Learn something or the other everytime Keep it up, Tony! All the best

Dear Toni: among all the seats you reviewed (Triumph or 3rd party), which one is the one that provides the most comfort (independently of how it looks)? Thank you in advance.

For me, probably the British Customs slammer

I have the newer 2023 model. The stock seat is very comfortable. I want to change the look but do not want increase seat height. I looked at the ribbed and diamond pattern ones at my dealer and they looked great as well as I thought thin. Appeared thinner than the stock seat even right up next to the tank where I sit. Did it really raise seat height for you? Are these water proof or do they need to be covered when washing the bike. Thanks.

Think I will send my 2016 seat to cm seats and get them to rework it for me, extra foam and gel pads
@Dave-in-France8 жыл бұрын
Hello Tony, the new seat looks very nice, I'm just wondering what difference you have found regarding the actual seat height, on the new version. I only ask as the Street Twin just felt a bit physically small, when I looked at it earlier in the year.
@mancavemoto8 жыл бұрын
+David Jebson (thebiglad) Hi David, the bench seat is maybe an inch/inch and half higher. However being flatter it does enable you to sit a little further back, which might also help
@Dave-in-France8 жыл бұрын
That's worth considering, thanks mate.

Interesting that you removed the seat strap from the stock seat. I noticed that from the start and wondered why my Phantom Black Street Twin had a strap and yours didn't. Then it made sense later in the video. I'm guessing you did this purely for aesthetics? Meanwhile, I'm currently utilizing my strap to hold my tool pouch until my Triumph luggage rack arrives. (I live in Chicago). With that said, the bench seat looks good but I think I will stick with the stock seat and remove the strap later. Thanks again for another great video.
@mancavemoto8 жыл бұрын
+Jerry Whatshisface No Problem Jerry, yep its just two bolts on the underside and can be put back in a couple of minutes. I too prefer the stock seat over the bench. Enjoy your bike and thanks for the kind comments. Ride Safe!

Got a question and I'm hoping you can help. Now that I've got a Street Twin (and it's awesome). I want to take my Wife out with me but she would like a back rest for the seat. I was hoping that a T100's back rest parts would fit on the ST, being that they are about the same frame size, but Triumph says No it won't fit and I'm at a loss. So my question is, do you know of any 3rd party shops that can help out? Google suggests some but their accessories aren't a solid as I'd like to the ST.
@mancavemoto7 жыл бұрын
Hi David, yes a tricky one. Although the frames are different some parts do cross fit, although it sounds like the backrest isn't one of them. Manufacturers tend not to like to recommend it though due to homologation rules. Maybe someone could modify the ST grab tail for you? GIVI make a top box rack which looks a little more substantial.

Do you know Tony if the triumph T120 bench seat 2016 fits the street twin 2016, different part numbers but sure there the same

I just added this bench seat to my 2020 Street Twin and it seems oddly loose...in that it wiggles side-to-side a fair amount (particularly up by the tank). Has anyone else run into this? Any suggestions on a remedy?
@mancavemoto3 жыл бұрын
Theres always a little bit of movement, but it should be too pronounced. Any damage to the locating tab on the seat?
@MrRadioMj3 жыл бұрын
@@mancavemoto Nothing appears to be damaged...maybe it was just a little more "wiggle" than I was expecting. After a few rides I haven't noticed any movement when riding, so I think I was perhaps being too persnickety. Thanks so much for the reply, and keep up the great videos! Cheers!

Getting my bike soon and really like this seat. However I don't see it on the triumph website. Can I actually buy this not through the dealer?
@mancavemoto8 жыл бұрын
+Yi Zhang Hi Yi, I would think as a triumph part it can only by bought through the dealer network. I have the part numbers though - Black A2304343 or Brown A2304634
@zzinin8 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much sir. Are you going to do something with the mirrors? That's the first thing I would change...into a set of bar ends.
@zzinin8 жыл бұрын
+Views from the Man Cave Just order the seat from Triumph Seattle for a discounted 337 dollars. Still expensive, but this seat is SLICK! Also got the bar end mirrors from ebay. I hope installing them would not be too difficult, but Triumph usually has really weird handle bar inserts. I'll see how they would work on mine... The dealer said I have to get the Triumph ones, which is 125 dollars each... Crazy...
@mancavemoto8 жыл бұрын
+Yi Zhang that was the first thing I wanted to change, I have had the triumph ones on order for nearly 2 months!
@mancavemoto8 жыл бұрын
+Yi Zhang Yep there is a weird insert on the end of the bars, so a standard bar end mirror that pushes into the bar won't work!

How good is this seat for the passenger? My brother rides as a passenger with me and is 5 feet and 7 inches tall and his knees ache on long rides because of the stock seat height. Will this seat be better for him?
@mancavemoto7 жыл бұрын
Shishir Bharadwaj To be honest I don’t think it would be much different. If anything possibly slightly lower at the back for a pillion?
